Day 9: Cameroon vs Serbia | South Korea vs Ghana | Brazil vs Switzerland | Portugal vs Uruguay

This Ghanaian team should be really good if they play to their potential.

we need to bring Kudus to the EPL just for the sun "Kudos to Kudus" pun

Korea looks so toothless up front. The usual with Paulo Bento teams

I was counting on Korea to be good enough to beat Portugal.. this is disappointing.

That's why, while people moan Europe is under-represented, Italy missed out, etc you also know only the Swiss will remember anything they do here and they may forget it themselves.

Same happens every World Cup with at least a quarter of the European sides: they bog things down with the calculations and all they accomplish is swatting aside less robust but more entertaining sides.

This from someone who bet on Morocco yesterday, you could see that one coming a mile away

Those sides don't win shit.

And Serbia did what you are clapping, and they might get eliminated later.

Nobody will remember Morocco and Cameron, defending like shit you don't go far in tournaments.

What sort of midfielder is he and would he suit us?
I'm no expert, only noticed him last week against Portugal. Doing a splendid job in a classically chaotic African allfielder (seems more forward here) job. It may well be that ETH thought he already had enough chaos with Bruno.

Morocco don't defend like shit at all.

I think we lost the last time we played them. It won't be an easy match for us.

Korea's tactics is put the ball in Son.

He nearly signed with Everton in the summer.

4 players in the box and he tries to shoot from there. Pointless football

Does anyone else think the WC group stage is great?

You get four matches everyday and unlike the CL they aren't the same old teams or at the exact same friggin time. Hence that sense of it being a festival of football is at its highest point at the group stage when so many countries are involved. As things narrow down the quality may go up but so does the seriousness / cautiousness of things.

Hoping we get a lot of entrainment in the knockouts too but just a shout out to the group stages of the WC which I think are great fun.

I still remember 1990s Cameroon, and 2018 Morocco is the reason I expected an upset yesterday. They didn't go far, but they had the same weapons they put on display last night.

Bento changed 3 out of 4 attacking players, yet we still have no offensive plan, and no player outside of Son who can create chances by themselves. And Son has been utterly disappointing this tournament so far.

Knockouts generally have better football but there’s nothing better than the full day of football that the groups provide.
