I'd love to know how Southgate survived all these years. He's ALWAYS been pure shit since day one.
 
England so chaotic at the back. And it’s not like Denmark are even doing anything particularly clever in attack, just simple short passes and a bit of movement off the ball.

quite simply he ain’t a midfielder. He plays inverted fullback with Liverpool under a much better manager. Just throwing him in the national team is madness. Yeah he can pass and cross the ball but he is not a cm

I’d even prefer Wharton in there ahead of him…and (I can’t believe I’m saying this) even Gallagher.

If he randomly decided to play shaw in centre mid when we have a stacked midfield the response would be the same
 
This Denmark side are shite too. We're getting hammered the first good team we face.

I hope this is the end of that experiment, it just will not work against even a half competent midfield. Yes with Gallagher perhaps you lose a little flair, but you gain a shed load more positioning and defensive side of the role, and structure.
 
So funny how bad the likes of Walker and Foden look when they're not on the go-go juice

Hojbjerg always reminds me of Fred- you can watch him on some occasions and think what a crap player and then other times he looks really good. He's done pretty well today.
 
Hopefully Gallagher picks up another booking in the 90th minute.

I don't know Bellingham is now seen exclusively as a no 10. Yes, he played there for Madrid this season but before that he's always played deeper.

Drop him deeper, put Foden in front and then we can get some proper width on the left.
