Looks like Germany aren't underestimating Moutinho....
Boateng has played against Ronaldo before and always did an excellent job as RB against Ribery and Robben. He's good defensively and quick for his size.
Optimistic to think that Portugal don't have a goal or two in them.2-0 or 3-1 Germany. First i thought 3-1 but my final tip in games is 2-0 now. We play 4 CB's
Why can't the much hyped up Carvalho get into the team ahead of Veloso?
I reckon Cavalho would be the safer bet then Veluso.
If he gets a run in the team i reckon people will see why he has a 35 mill price tag.
To me Germany look vulnerable if things get physical in the middle and coutinho picksa pass.
This Eder guy,he must be better than the other cfs? apostiga and almeida again.what do they do to get in that squad?

Not really.Looks like Germany will be triple-teaming Ronaldo, with Lahm probably drifting right, Khedira helping out too, and a proper centre-half at right-back. Stop Ronaldo and you stop Portugal (at least in an attacking sense), so it's understandable. Wonder whether Muller or Gotze plays up front.
Not really.
Because Paulo Bento is a very conservative manager and he prefers to count on international experience rather than potencial. Miguel Veloso has been playing in our midfield for many years now and in the major competitions. I´d play Carvalho who i consider the better player but i understand Bento´s point of view specially when we are playing an opponent as Germany. If we fail to control the midfield i expect him to put Carvalho in just like he did against Sweden.
I have the same opinion but i think Carvalho will probably get to play in the second half.
Eder has alot of potencial but he had a very difficult year with one major injury. Almeida had a good year at Besiktas and played well in the friendlies before the world cup so he deserved to be in the line up.
Postiga and Almeida get in the squad because we haven´t produced a decent striker in about 20 years
How so? They still don't have a proper number 9, and Nani has largely been awful since 2012.
Not for Portugal he hasn't. Coentrao? Moutinho? It's not like Ronaldo's the only outlet they have. He only scored one goal for them in qualifying. They put 5 past Ireland a week ago with him not scoring any.How so? They still don't have a proper number 9, and Nani has largely been awful since 2012.
I hope for Portugal's sake Ronaldo don't break down in the first 5 minutes.
You imagine Germany will try to rough him up and get him to do something to get sent off
I'm pretty sure it won't be. I don't think it will be a draw either. What if this is the 1st 0-0?

Germany's right side will be exposed defensively. Özil plus Boateng against Ronaldo and Coentrao doesn't look strong tbf, but we'll see. It's probably the same on the other side, altough I haven't watched Höwedes too much on left back position.
I am predicting boring game.
They have a solid defence, a very capable midfield, but no number 10, no top class striker, and Nani has inconsistent at best since 2012, even for Portugal.
Its funny because even a good striker I.e Mandzukic, Jackson, Hernandez would transform this team into a top top side. Defensively great and a midfield who knows how to function properly.Because Paulo Bento is a very conservative manager and he prefers to count on international experience rather than potencial. Most Portugese fans would disagree with you on that one, and they've probably watched their own team more than the rest of us. Regardless of Nani's club form, he's generally always good for them. They have a solid defence, a very capable midfield, but no number 10, no top class striker, and Nani has inconsistent at best since 2012, even for Portugal.

ha I hope he can score at least 3 todayFun fact: Germany's starting eleven today put together has scored 48 goals in national league and Champions League, exactly as many as Ronaldo has scored on his own
Is this another back five? Struggling to see anyone playing at left back other than Lahm, then Boateng right and three other centre halves. I was thinking perhaps Kroos and Khedira in front of the five, then Ozil behind Muller and Götze?
