they dont have a quality striker and no bench

They should play Ronaldo as a striker, atleast they have good wingers. And won't be left exposed on the side he plays on the wings because he doesn't like to defend. So defensively and attacking they would be stronger.

Vierinha right and Ronaldo through the middle.

I know fudge all about this Eder chap maybe him and let ronnie rip on the left? postiga and Almeida are ridiculous ly poori get that, but with Carvalho and Veluso, meireless and coutinho i dont see how you think their not well stocked. Nevermind a pretty serious back four.

A settled 6,8,and more defensive creative 10 look pretty strong in that heat.

It's a solid midfield, I'll give you that. But I think that every single one of Lahm, Khedira and Kroos is a class above their Portuguese counterparts.
Lahm in midfield is my prediction for player of the tournament.

Moutinho is the key for Portugal, if germans can keep him quiet then Ronaldo might not become a huge problem for them.

I cannot hear the word false Nine anymore especially as Müller is none. Or he is a false Nine - a false Seven - a false 10 - a false 11... He even is a false 8 when he plays in the offensive midfield of a 4-1-4-1...

So, what you're saying is that Müller isn't a footballer at all? Those damn Germans, cheating their way to victory again :D

Good luck to the Portuguese posters @Sly, @Arruda and the others!

Thanks mate.

That German line up doesn´t seem very impressive but to tell you the truth i´ve seen plenty of german line up over the years that don´t impress me and they just seem to get results anyways. It´s a question of mentality and pedigree and Germany is always very good at this.

@herokiller84 i already put the line up on page 4. Should be the same as in the last Euro2012 match against Germany except with Almeida instead of Postiga.

Rui Patrício; João Pereira, Pepe, Bruno Alves and Fábio Coentrão; Miguel Veloso, Raul Meireles and Moutinho; Nani, Hugo Almeida and Ronaldo.

@Cantonarightboot We have alot of young players? It´s exactly the opposite. Besides Carvalho, Portugal need to begin rebuilding the side for the next major competitions. From that line up everyone has played in big national team tournaments and top club competitions. Experience can´t be used as excuse in our case. It´s all seasoned vets in our line up.

Same here. No one is even looking at the role on the pitch anymore, it's crazy. Countless strikers have started their career in a wide position and Müller has always been more of a forward than a midfielder. I mean, is anyone calling van Persie a false 9 because he started his career as a winger? It's plain stupid and very annoying. Everytime Müller started as a CF for Bayern, he was a regular nine, probably moved less around than Mandzukic did.

I hope we are going to get battered. Living in munich, the amount of arrogant Bayern/Germany fans around me is unbelievable annoying. Watching the 4-0 Real Madrid win vs. munich together with Bayern fans was already a great joy, to see all the disappointment after a Ronaldo hattrick would be hilarious.

#GER LINE-UP: Neuer, Hummels, Schweinsteiger, Schürrle, Podolski, Müller, Durm, Lahm, Kroos, Götze, Boateng #GERPOR #WorldCup #joinin

This one looks much better, complete opposite to the other one. First full defense, now full offense. But it's a fake i believe.

Germany are my team but I expect Portugal to win. Think that for some reason Portugal are a bit underrated. If Ronaldo's on form they'll be a big threat for any of the favourites. They are one of the dark horses in the tournament. Ronaldo to have a great WC.

Sorry, but if we lose not because of Ronaldo's form. If we lose, it's because Portugal as a team played well (or we played bad), no matter if Ronaldo's in form or not, that alone will not make a difference.

This is nearly the best possible line up, so it's not going to happen.

Schweinsteiger + Kroos as the only defensive midfielders didn't work out too well for Bayern though.

But i can't see Löw dismissing Klose + Khedira + Özil + Mertesacker. Not going to happen. At least 2 of them will play.

Ok these are official:

#GER LINE-UP: Neuer, Howedes, Hummels, Khedira, Ozil, Muller, Lahm (c), Mertesacker, Kroos, Gotze, Boateng

#POR LINE-UP: Patricio, Alves, Pepe, Veloso, Coentrao, Ronaldo (c), Moutinho, Almeida, Meireles, Nani, Pereira #GERPOR #WorldCup #joinin

Not as good, but much much much better than the one you guys posted from SSNHD

Best fullback in the world played in midfield against the team with the greatest winger/forward in the competition...

That looks like a more composed eleven. Our line up is the one i put in the morning and the expect one with Paulo Bento as manager.

Thanks mate.

I reckon Cavalho would be the safer bet then Veluso.

If he gets a run in the team i reckon people will see why he has a 35 mill price tag.

To me Germany look vulnerable if things get physical in the middle and coutinho picksa pass.

This Eder guy,he must be better than the other cfs? apostiga and almeida again.what do they do to get in that squad?

It looks much better than the one that had Schurrle and Podolski, still uninspiring defence that could concede one or two though.

Why can't the much hyped up Carvalho get into the team ahead of Veloso?

Would've gone with Carvalho over Veloso tbh but I can see why Bento hasn't. Other than that there's no real surprise in the line up, lack of a decent striker could feck us over though. Hard one to call really as the Germans have a better team but we're not gonna roll over for anyone, think if people like Pepe, Moutinho & of course Ronaldo have a good game then we could get something out of it.

Not much better. Özil can be good but not with two players beside him who will constantly be invading his space. So Löws tactic is pretty much leaving the FB's at the back and in return not having offensive midfielders who support the FB's. Modern football for you, folks.

Boateng has played against Ronaldo before and always did an excellent job as RB against Ribery and Robben. He's good defensively and quick for his size.

Germany definitely have the better side on paper but I wouldn't rule Portugal out. We saw with Holland and Italy that a decent, balanced side with one or two exceptional players can do serious damage, and their coach isn't an idiot.

playing Özil (out wide?) is terrible. Else the lineup is okayish. Lahm+Kroos add enough stability to win the game.

I hope for Müller right, Götze left and Özil centre. But they will rotate a lot anyways so it does not matter.
