Debatable that the portguese defence is better, plus if they were to play a 4 zabaleta would be in for argentina.

Bruno Alves has been absolutely woeful for ages. His performance against us last year in the CL qualifier was laughable. He doesn't give a toss. Worse than McShane's impact on the FA Cup final.
 
German looks ordinary, but somehow they always finds the space and their passes always hits their target.

I dont see anythjnf wrong with loew, german arw playing exciting football and is my team for this world cup

Forgot about him, even then, Coentrao and Pepe assure Portugal have a better defence, just a shame they are highly unlikeable.
 
For those doing comparisons, Individually man for Man Portugal look much better than they do as a team.

Can make a case of them being on par with Holland in this department too. But they do not click as a team.
 
What's all the talk about Germany being great so far? They got a soft penalty and then played with one man more for about an hour against a team that played quite crap. I'm not rating anything like that. I'll wait until they have a proper opponent before I burst out into celebrations.
 
Portuguese pundits really laying it on the players and Bento specially. It looks like Coentrão´s world cup is over.

Germany definitely team to beat. Very organised, solid in defence and their passing is excellent.
