Day 3 | Poland vs Netherlands | Slovenia vs Denmark | Serbia vs England

I reckon it was Cole who was saying on Neville’s podcast that he spends so much time wanting to show he’s the big man on the pitch and wastes energy getting into tussles with defenders. You almost forget he’s so good when he actually runs at defenders.

Lukaku was like that. When he was just much better off playing off the shoulder, and then just using his strength to get him a little separation once he's through

So does Slovenia actually exist? I’ve never heard of anyone coming from there outside of football. What language do they speak? I’ve never heard the country in the news and It makes me think that it was invented by Uefa to disrupt football. But what do I know, I’m just a free thinker.

This game feels like 21 regular dudes getting to have a kick about with Christian Eriksen.

Denmark is incredibly passive with lot of standing around when they have the ball. No urgency in their game right now. Subs needed

Like Doncic might be the second best basketball player in the world. Comes from Slovenia.

How does Wind look better? Because of a couple of flicks? Come on. Hojlund has way more in his arsenal. Just needs to slow the game down in his head and stop trying to outmuscle everyone.
Wind understands the game, plays with intelligence and has a better technique. I’m not saying he’s generally a better player (though I’m also not saying he’s not) but what is certain is that Højlund is not enough better.

I’d get Mæhle and Damsgaard on. This is far too flat and Slovenia are gaining confidence.

The country of Doncic (basketball) and Pogacar (cycling). Their football team is the unknown there.

He has an obsession with backing into defenders which isn’t helping. But in general I’m not seeing a player who has all the tools, as people keep saying. I’m seeing a severely limited player. I mean look at Wind today, looks a much better player.

Agree with the bolded, it's like he obsessively wants to assert himself. He doesn't need to do it. He's got some good assets, but he ends up looking awkward quite a bit of the time and gets lost in congested areas.

I was very drunk in Barcelona once and stumbled across a group of international students including a bunch of Slovenians and I thought it would be a great idea to test my geographical knowledge and tell them everything I knew about Slovenia but I was actually just regurgitating my knowledge of Slovakia due to drunk.

Was thinking the rule change might suck the emotion out of the game and maybe we’ll see a dramatic sending off in a big game, but so far I love the rule that only the captains are allowed to approach the referee.

They’re not bad at football but I understand basketball is popular in that part of the world if it exists.

Sporar  Sporting actually spent money on that scrub some seasons ago. Remains a non scoring striker it seems.
