Day 3 | Poland vs Netherlands | Slovenia vs Denmark | Serbia vs England

He plays behind Bruno. The other option is he sits on the bench permanently because Bruno plays every game.
Bruno sometimes plays out wide and he should be rested as it's dumb playing him in some games when it's unnecessary. Bruno played himself into the ground last season.

Ericksen looks so much better in a structured system when his best traits are utilised. Imagine that.
He suits the pace of international football. And it's not like Eriksen hasn't performed well for United, before the injury last year he was good.

Denmark look a bit suspect at the back. There’s something here for Slovenia.

Jesus George Hamilton and his over pronunciation of every name is wrecking my head

Agreed. And even here you can see he’s pretty useless when the whole team wants to counterpress. He has his strengths but he also has a lot of weaknesses. It’s boring yet predictable to bring EtH in every thread.

Decent bit of a hold up there from Hojlund in a scenario where he often struggled this season, up against a CB, back to goal. Showed a stronger base. Been a bit quiet so far.

Or the manager of course. I’m not spotting Eriksen in the number 6 position trying to defend much in this match.

Very easy to make the cheap digs . Do you want him to play in his favoured position instead of bruno then ?

When he plays for us he's in a midfield that's constantly being overrun in a position that doesn't suit him. He also doesn't suit our attempt at transitional football. Along with the fact we have no tactics and our midfield is never in a structured shape because our manager is out of his depth.

But it must be that he's suited to international football.

Eriksen has by far the best football brain on the pitch here, and he's not being run ragged in a system where he has a lot of ground to cover going backwards against a high intensity team, and consequently is shot after 50 minutes.

Eriksen is an attacking midfielder. We bought him off the back of a strong season he had playing as the most free of a middle three, then tried to play him in a two. The same as we did with Pogba and Van de Beek. They all looked worse as a result.

Honestly, we are not learning anything new about Eriksen this afternoon. We are just being reminded that our transfer policy has been incoherent for years. As if we needed that after Laurie Whitwell's write up of how we went from chasing Rice to signing Mount.

wonderful buildup play by Denmark to open space snd then dummy holds it within the centre circle to let defence reset

I don't disagree with your points on the structure and how easily we get overrun but I also think Eriksen has slowed down considerably even compared to how he was before the injury last year. International football is a much slower pace especially playing against sides like Slovenia and I think that suits him much better. If he leaves this summer I could see him going to the La Liga or Serie A and having a lot of success.

Eriksen absolutely running the show. Hojlund not been too involved yet.

Eriksen getting a bit too excited and being a bit selfish now. Understandable since he's barely played all season. He must feel free.

Heart devices banned in Serie A so that’s probably not an option. But I agree, he still has a couple of years left in a slower league.
