Day 23: Netherlands vs. Argentina

I don't see what Wijnaldum is bringing to the Dutch team aside from an extra body in the middle. His control and distribution is poor.

Argentina have been the better side.

How are people disappointed that there's not been many chances? I mean, the stakes are very high, and yesterday shows you why gung-ho doesn't work.

The nervy edge to matches of this proportion are enough for entertainment value as far as I'm concerned.

Robben totally not in the game and the Dutch look absolutely toothless without him producing a bit of magic. They need to find a way to get him back into the game.

That being said Argentina doesn't look to frightening in attack either.

Have absolutely no idea who will win this. Hope it isn't 0-0 and penalties.

Netherlands will win this. It's been exactly how they'd like it so far and they just need one opportunity and to put it away. Argentina were pushing in the first half and couldn't create much at all.

In that case boxing and mma should be banned

Because you often see them on wobbly legs but recover

I always cringe with head injuries or what not in football but as a watcher of MMA i never get phased by anything, well except for anderson silva style leg breaks that shit just isn't cool.

Holland have been playing suspiciously like us last season. Bomb it to the wings, none through the mid,and getting found out on the break not once, twice, but many times. Argies look like they might take this if LVG doesn't switch tactics at the break.

Hollands midfield was non existent. Argentina have done a good job closing the space but the Dutch midfielders really have to a do a better job at creating space for themselves.

Barring Robben and Van Persie the Dutch team is very low on quality. And Van Persie hasn't played well since the 2nd game.

I wouldn't have any of the other Dutch players at United.

I think Argentina has a clear edge, Lavezzi has broken through repeatedly in a way the Dutch hasn't at all. But the Dutch couldn't wish for a better game anyhow with the players they have, they need to continue risking those long passes and hope one slips in goal and if they can set out to solely counter they can score more.

The difference in player quality is very noticeable as Holland has won the tactical battle while Argentina more relies on their great players to pull something out of their sleeves.

Netherlands taking the term risk averse to whole new levels.

Why was there not this amazing match-day technique for the game yesterday?
