Day 2 | Hungary vs Switzerland | Spain vs Croatia | Italy vs Albania

That Italy squad feels strangely underwhelming despite having talents here and there like Barella, Dimarco, Bastoni, Donnarumma, Chiesa.

Their lack of tournament experience will hurt them, I feel. The spine that won the last Euros is largely gone, and their WC experience has been nonexistent due to failing to qualify the last two.

Wow. The amount of goals in the England squad compared to others but you know they'll play the most boring shitty football out of all those other teams mentioned.

They were underwhelming on the last euros too. They usually win it when they are without big expectations.

Cringing at Micah attempting analysis

Yeah he should stick to the laughs and the entertainment factor.

I cringe everytime he tries to analyse games. Schoolboy analysis with no professional insight. People on fan channels have better takes. It's like he has learned a few generic lines he needs to say and get over with. Awful "pundit".

I added the comment that I think their lack of tournament experience will hurt them in the end. The core of the group that won the last Euros (Bouncci, Chiellni, Verratti, etc) is largely gone, and they have no experience whatsoever from the WC.

The story of Sylvinho and Zabaleta and how they’ve impacted the Albanian team and how they searched for the players for the squad is really quite interesting to be fair.

Quite a few goals in this tournament so far. Expecting Italy to carry that on with at least 4 goals tonight.

That Italian looks awful. This is why I disagree with people saying football has moved on, and teams of today would beat the teams of twenty years ago. There was so many better players in the late 90s and early 2000s than there is today, and its not even close.

I'd be suprised if Albania manage to scary us.. Half of their outfiled players play in Serie A, I know their value and no one of them would even be called in our NTs.

We are far superior and must prove it tonight.

It’s more of the level playing field now across the leagues but quality at the top end of the spectrum is certainly much lower nowadays no doubt.

The Italian national anthem is actually a pretty decent one. Shame that its incipit is the name of the hard right party that’s been ruling the country since 2022.

Italian anthem doesn’t quite hit the same without Buffon belting it out.

Italy team doesn't seem that scary on paper. Some good players here and there but compared to teams of yesteryear ...not great.
