Day 17: England vs Germany | Sweden vs Ukraine (Ro16 7&8)

England fans have (stupidly) booed anthems for decades, at this point. Not sure why it's a story, now.

How is it no more than a free kick? It's a yellow card all day long. Jenas you absolute clown.

He's definitely getting a shot away if he's not fouled there.

Rice has been utterly dreadful this tournament when you factor in his market value. Such an uninspiring player, always backwards even when playing forward is the easiest option.

Definite foul but I think he bought that one a bit. Ref's got it right with a yellow.

Rice yellow already. Not looking good in general.

England will be lucky to get to halftime without conceding a goal and Southgate ain't going to change things til then.

It has happened in pretty much every game when the team is at home. Denmark have done it, Italians have done it etc.

The Italians didn’t boo Wales did they? Or the Danish at Amsterdam or Turkish at Baku? (I know the latter two weren’t technically at home but they had a shit ton of supporters at the stadium compared to no Welsh, I might be wrong about the booing but I don’t recall that at all)

It’s not the end of the world but I do find booing national anthems pretty disrespectful, I haven’t liked it when I’ve been in the stadium and the Welsh have done it.

Have England played this formation before, or are they experimenting?

As predicted, we look lost in this formation!

This is a big chance against a not so strong German side and we've changed our normal style.

There's not much creativity in this side, go a goal down and we'll struggle with this 11.

The classic 'game has just started so I'll be extra lenient' from the referee.

No forward momentum, pressure will just build and build as we sink deeper and deeper.

There is no midfield. Just 7 defenders, a gap then 3 attackers. Its school level organization.
