Day 17: England vs Germany | Sweden vs Ukraine (Ro16 7&8)

Pitch looks a bit rough, have to wonder how it’ll hold up the rest of the tournament.

You'd think saka is a championship level player going by the comments on here. Can understand him starting over Sancho considering Sancho hasnt really impressed for England unless you want under performing players to start. I don't get why Sterling is starting though

Everyone's at it. I don't know what the problem is. You're at a football match. It's not that serious.
If you make the effort and spend the money to be at a game like this it’s a matter of life and death from start to the final whistle imo.

That said I wouldn’t bother with booing another country’s anthem.

It has happened in pretty much every game when the team is at home. Denmark have done it, Italians have done it etc.
Oh well that makes it alright.

England are the only team pressing in the opposition's half. Germany content to sit very deep.

the southgate hero-o-meter is currently hovering above shitc**t.

Such a defensive set up from Southgate. This is just going to be wave after wave of Germany attacks.

There's 0 midfield for England, Germany most likely win on this basis if it's not changed.

Germany look up for this, the England fans mustn’t have booed their national anthem loud enough

I don’t understand teams changing formation halfway through a tournament. Or the fascination with a back five that’s happening right now. England are all over the place.

Southgate looks like a creature out of one of Tolkien's books

So many gaps in the England midfield and defence

Rice and Philips are playing, right?

I think that should have been a red. It stopped him taking a shot.

The game is going as I thought so far. We can't get out.

England getting badly exposed in central midfield....Rice lucky not to be sent off there.
