Martinez not happy.

Looks more like Jose

Probably the best game of the tournament yesterday
I was wondering what you were talking about and then I realised that the group C games were so boring that it felt like a whole extra day had passed and I thought the Austria - Netherlands game was played the day before.

Georgia are so entertaining to watch.

Easily my favourite major tournament debutant since Senegal 2002.

crazy they are going through given they were desperately unlucky to miss two glorious chances at the death to draw Turkey & beat Czechia

Portugal really love a dive eh, more than most. Also Ronaldo’s conduct for his age is comical, ever the spoiled child. Georgia have been a credit to themselves in this tournament though.

I'm not embarrassed by losing 1-0 against Georgia atm, I'm embarrassed by the play acting from the players. Bunch of clowns

Georgia are brilliant on the counter attack....not much for having the ball but well organized and quick to counter with numbers

I quite like the Georgia, no big names aside from Kvara that I know but they try and build passing combinations, use the width well. Compare that to Scotland who could field a PL front 6 and yet couldn't string two passes together.

I don’t agree. Portugal had one bad moment early in the game, but otherwise looked good for a team that has nothing to play for.

I can’t believe that the penalty appeal wasn’t even checked by VAR.

What does that got to do with my post. I specifically said I was embarrassed by the antics not by losing.

This tactic again showing it doesn't work, the players don't know what position they should be in so many of them overlap.
We are always so slow and no one moves so we just pass the ball around slowly - and this happens regardless of the tactic.
Conceição is the only one trying to burst forward and open spaces.

Turkish players can't run, can't shoot, can't do anything with the ball. I won't even start with Czech. in general, there was very little to see in these past couple of days.

He already got one.

Ronaldo should come off. For him to stay on and get a red would be a disaster. Why would you risk it in a game that means nothing other then a personal agenda to pad his stats.

Just a bad and stupid decision for him to stay on. I presume it’s Ronaldo pushing to play , pure ego, toxic ego in this case if he gets red.

Not having seen him live before, and with YouTube vids generally being a load of old bollocks, I was hoping to see flashes of what a €120m “generational talent” can do. So far not much at all, it’d be nice if he turned up in the second. He’s 19, I’m not expecting him to dominate, but something other than a 5 yard backwards or sideways pass would be nice.

He's going for the oldest player to score in the Euros record I believe... or something similar.

just saw the replay for the yellows given that led to the red card.....fecking shocking

that romanian ref should be banned for the rest of the tournament and moving forward

It's a better conduct than all the youngsters playing today with something to prove to earn a spot in the starting 11. Taking out Cristiano and Conceição, it's like the rest of the team doesn't care. At least it's very clear Ronaldo isn't happy with how they played the first half. Wish all the others felt the same. Sideway passes, everyone static, no movements, nothing.

Mamardashvili commands the area well and is a good shot stopper, but he isn't good enough on the ball for what ETH wants from his keeper in possession. I don't think there's any chance we'll even consider him, even if I think his shot stopping alone is good enough to do better for us than Onana ever will.

And a Turkish player got away with a red for far worse tackles.

I read reports that Félix is annoyed for not playing a single minute and then he plays at this pedestrian pace. It's embarrassing. In a couple of years he's playing in Saudi Arabia or Fenerbahce

Would be good for Portugal going forward not having to play him...

Ronaldo shouldn’t come for the second half. No point at all, and it’s risky.

Fair enough. I thought that the ref was unfair with Portugal. He gave Georgia every call, but not Portugal. They had to play Georgia and the referee.

If you look at the history of my posts here, I don’t tend to complain about referees, but this referee went too far in my view.

'Play'...'drop zone'

What am I watching?

It would be fine if the analysis was right but it obviously wasn't because Ronaldo would have been in the area the ball was in if he wasn't held back.

Still would be a soft penalty, but you can just say that rather than pulling out a magnifying glass to scour over the technical rules.

Anyway better stop there before I get accused of sexism again

He only got the pen wrong tbf. We are not losing because of the ref. Players have to control their antics and temper. This match means nothing but the next will

This sub by Martinez. Palhinha was only one of the best players for us. Feck off back to Spain

The penalty is a big one to miss. The ref didn’t even bother to check it. Portugal had reasons to be mad. A penalty could’ve made it 1-1, so why underestimate its importance in a 1-0 game.

I think that he made more mistakes than you think.

This tournament is just a competition of which national association hired the least shit manager
