It does work if you can play counters with good players, otherwise it's just suicide
It invites pressure closer to goal. Even if the idea is to play on the counter, it’d be better attempting an initial press and then falling back into a more compact formation with a higher line and challenge the opposition to play their forwards through.
In Scotland’s case, they have an energetic midfield that can score goals if they win the ball higher but they aren’t good enough to not make mistakes closer to goal and they have no pace anywhere.
