David De Gea

He was never going to be benched all season. Just until the issue was resolved one way or another.

EDIT: Oh, do you mean that if he didn't sign the contract LvG would have kept him on the bench?
The guy managed us for two years and you still don't realise he is a lunatic?

Not that I disagree, you can't play a keeper who is only counting his days to leave.

A mid finger from us to Real? Pay up or suck up? Good.

Or maybe, just maybe Florentino is backing up due to the squad and the manager publicly putting pressure on him to stick with Navas. Marca polls are also clearly showing that the fans want Navas to stay. It's election summer, signing De Gea in these circumstances is idiotic (and besides, why would De Gea want to come here after reading the news himself). Everyone except for Florentino himself want Navas to stay our nr. 1. This time he has no option but to give up on De Gea.

Oh no I know he's a madman. I went from despair and almost hating him, to finding him (maybe unintentionally) hilarious.

Nobody posted this? De Gea has liked the tweet

Did not know the details. If that is the case, even better. We will have a settled keeper for much longer.

Doubt it was him anyway. It would have been whatever PR/agency/management person who was scrolling through at the time.

There is no pay up. He simply isn't leaving. Club said he was happy here and looking forward to CL under Jose. If he really wanted out, surely he'd of put in a transfer request or made it public that he felt differently.

I'd prefer to sell him. Sick of the speculation every summer. And I don't want a player here who is only staying because Real don't want him.
Of course if Real now don't want him, no-one else will move for him.
Nobody cares how you feel. He stays and you will be sick. Deal wid it. Sorry!

In case you forgot, United said he wasn't leaving. Real had no choice or voice in this decision. How do we know???? If DDG really wanted to leave do you not think there would be a whole load more from the DDG camp even just enough to create some doubt? The fact there is silence about our statement and the acceptance of the Real back off, speaks volumes. Plus there was no speculation last summer. Just paper BS that was totally untrue. Madrid made no approach so there was nothing to ward off or reject.

This race is run and Man United won by respecting their player and it, as of yet, appears the player respects the club back. I said it before and i'll say it again. He was angry with Madrid over fax gate and while current pres is at the club. He'd probably never paly for him after that. Be honest, after being shafed like that would you?

Why are you asking? Nobody cares how I would feel.

Actually I won't be sick. I'm sure if he stays he will do his job. I'd just rather sell him if he'd rather be in Madrid.

And for the record I think you will find that the Express care how I feel
The express? No wonder you feel sick!

Spending a wholes season warming the bench just because Florentino cocked things up isn't any better.

Fooled once but not twice. They cocked it up and he was the one bound to pay for it. Only logical decision is "feck them, if they do want me they'll pay up".

Florentino is loyal to no one. Just watch how they spent a year buttering up Aubameyang and the moment a shinier toy (Mbappe) showed up he ceased to exist.

Not sure how you can get rid of a guy like this. He's far too valuable to the Madrid squad, doubt De Gea could do this.

The flaw in the logic is that both players were bought by the same club is evidence of the transfer policy of said club and less telling of the general market.

Alright, explain 30m for Picford then? There's no flaw in the logic unless the one you're desperately trying to create. The market is crazy, we might as well demand a crazy fee for a world class goal keeper. If this thinking is flawed, sorry for you.

Sky working hard to convince the world that DDG will be sold this summer, £100M thats some wedge.

Gianluigi Donnarumma story running along side to try and drum up some momentum

If only both clubs would come out and say he is not for sale or they are not going to buy DDG and stop draging this out.

That isn't their story, it's paper talk coming from none other but the daily star.
