David De Gea

Fred Hermel, one of Zidane's closest friend, one of Florentino's friend and also French journalist in Madrid for l'Equipe and RMC said last week that three names are in for this summer.

De Gea, because he's Spanish and Spain's number one.
Courtois
Donnarumma.

Hermel said that Florentino wants De Gea, but he doesn't want to pay the 70M€ for him this summer and will try to force the player or United to lower the fee. And Perez thinks that his friendship with Mourinho will avoid a war between Madrid and United.

Then said that Courtois is an easier target. His ex girlfriend is in Madrid and has a daughter there. Hermel said that Courtois's agent asked Madrid to buy him this summer. To go on this route, a Belgian journalist asked Courtois about this and said that he would like to come closer to his familly in Madrid.

So, maybe that if De Gea hesitate a bit and United stand on the release clause, maybe Dave can stay

Would like to know how he's going to do that.

No way De Gea will try to force a move, he didn't the last time, so no chance he will this time. Also, it would be incredibly daft for us to lower the asking price and let one of the best players in the world to go on the cheap.

Ps - Perez will probably know there wont be any point low balling United with Mourinho at the helm. It's all pointing to De Gea staying.

Thanking the Gods. The old and the new.

I bet Courtois's girlfriend isn't thrilled by this news!

uh? He totally did

How do you know? Not like de gea sat on his ass and would have refused to play
So why were united even negotiating his transfer? He had one year left on his contract and didn't want to sign a new one. That's called forcing a transfer.

If we don't qualify to CL I think he will surely leave, in that case I'd suggest we get Keylor Navas, great and a bit underated goalkeeper.

If there is no buyout clause, we have nothing to fear. Madrid won't spend that much on a keeper. Keylor Navas is a top keeper as it is.

If De Get leaves you thats an awful big pair of goalies gloves to fill. He has to be worth around 12 points a season. Where do you find another one like him? I wouldn't swap him for Courtois No Chance

Meh. Don't really find anything wrong with what Mourinho said.

The funny thing is there's hasn't even been much speculation.

has De Gea been his brilliant best this season? i don't think so

We hold the cards in this... if Jose thinks his mind is in Madrid then I think we will sell.....

I wonder what we might get in return as I can't see Madrid spending a lot on a goalkeeper with marginal improvements on Navas when we are talking 50m or so

Has been very little speculation and I can't really see RM pay what United would demand.

There's very little to worry about in regards to what Jose just said. I feel Mourinho is the type of manager who will just say that De Gea said he wants to leave, so I don't think he's being evasive or anything.

typical real mardrid media tapping up time, would be sad to see him leave but have an excellent keeper in sergio romero. no doubt the summer months will be full of de gea and hazard speculation ........the joys !

Madird media haven't even written anything.

FFS, watch him play, I reckon you've seen him keep a clean sheet against Wigan and thought he was good enough to replace DDG.

I've seen him keep several clean sheets. I've also seen him make super saves.
I've also recently seen DDG make some minor errors.
You are making out that Romero is really really bad, which he isn't.
DDG is better, but Romero is better than most other GKs around the World.

DDG to Madrid is as inevitable as Scottish independence.
I think we will be absolutely fine without him. Given his contract length he is easily going to cost £70m.

The thought has been plaguing me all season as I'd always assumed there was some get out for DDG to sign the contract.

In Mourinho's favoured deep defending style, I feel only a big, aerially dominant centre back is more important than a top keeper. We simply can't afford to let him go, money isn't at all important to us with our financial resources.

Not arsed, under LVG etc. we were reliant on DDG, under Jose we simply aren't. He's the best manager in the world at setting up defences, Romero or a new signing would be more than good enough as a replacement.

Not too fussed to be honest. As long as we get someone like Oblak to replace him. DDG is the best keeper in the world though.
