The commentator made a good point during the game. Basically, he said that Spurs seemed to overthink where to put the ball (and took a tad longer to shoot) as they knew they had to do something special in order to score. However, in that situation, it helped DDG even more as he could cover more distance or position himself ideally. It reminded me of our game against Schalke with Neuer in goal

We should offer him something ridiculous which other teams won't even entertain for a GK, Sanchez type of wages.

Excellent point and example.

He was great as usual but the Arsenal Away and liverpool home were better for me.

Many Spurs fans seem to think their attackers just shot the ball straight to De Gea

I agree with the fact that you need the whole team in sync, my point is since Ole has arrived you can tell that the CB's are beginning to split more and when the ball is passed back, I have seen better movement from the CB's to get into space for DDG to pass out short. Final point is that regardless of instructions, it does not justify De Gea hoofing it into the crowd time and time again... even for a long ball side that would be unacceptable - at the very least he should be aiming for one of our players and doing so accurately.

I see your point, but historically, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are so fecking poor on the ball, that any attempt to play tiki taka with them is a recipe for disaster. Lindeloff is a little better but not by much

Just to illustrate that, here's Victor in the reverse fixture at OT:

So ideally De Gea would be Pirlo incarnate and play nice triangle passes with our defense, but in the real world our defenders are so inadequate with the ball, that he's doing the only sensible thing and hoofing it

Everything has been said about De Gea. Offer him whatever he wants for his new contract, every day that passes is wasted. Make him sign the contract.

With that being said, we need to talk about his distribution. He has to do better plain and simple. Maybe it's because he doesn't trust the CBs in front of him but his kicking was terrible yesterday. That's one of his area to improve but it has become so important that going forward it's absolutely crucial that he becomes better.

All of our players should be bowing to the (new) King. Especially after Sunday's performance.

Average caf rating of 9.7 has to be some kind of a record?

Hard to imagine how anyone could have given De Gea anything less than a 10. There was some moaning in the first half about his distribution, but assuming these ratings were cast after the final whistle it's daft to give him a mere 9.

 larrikan.

But seriously the guy is a fecking sorcerer, it is ridiculous. I watched the game again for a third time and I went back over the slo-mo compilations they showed, the one where he saved Toby's low stab at the ball was insane. In the slow mo you see him sizing it up and connect flush like it was a clearance. Then you watch it in real-time and it looks like he threw something at it in hope for the best but you see him in the slow mo, size it up and get a full on side-foot on it into a vacant area.

He's a fecking wizard.

its nice to see expressionsoozing getting some recognition. been one of the funniest football youtubers for awhile

Kind of true though, they had an absolute mare when it came to finishing. Kane had a hattrick of one on ones (the point blank header being his worst miss) and Alli also had three where you'd have expected him to score at least one. Llorente's slice in front of goal was also a let off.

I thought most saves were routine/good with the best being his last one from Kane & Alderweireld's shot from the corner which he must have seen super late. Not knocking the performance as it was phenomenal but Arsenal away was far better in that there were a number of almost impossible stops in that game including Lukaku's sly attempt an OG and the double stop IMO.

Leicester 0:1 Man Utd
Solid as ever when called upon. The save from the free kick and Vardy’s bicycle kick were brilliant.

Excellent handling all game and a couple of quality saaves, in particular the one from the freekick.
