Have we signed him up to a long term contract yet? I'm constantly paranoid that Barca would come in and take him away from us. GET ON IT ED!

I'm the same. While there are some transfers that need to get done, re-signing De Gea should also be high on Ed's list.

If only the the gif was a bit longer.

You could see a tribal ritual were Vidic kicks De Gea on the floor to aknowledge the save and that he is now accepted as one of them.

I felt so proud.

Here you go, I uploaded it for you:

I thought he was dead when he was on the ground.

That was Rio. Vidic walks past right after.

BTW, In which game he collected a cross , then bounced it on the pitch with one hand, before throwing?

Are you on about this one? He kicked the ball after it though.

Some uncharacteristically shit kicking from him today.

The Swedish commentator was going on about how shit his kicking is despite being Spanish where it's important for GKs to be good with the ball at their feet. Pissed me off! Yes his kicking was shit, but feck me he made it seem as if we still had Ben Foster in goal!

His distribution was poor yesterday. Not that it matters - he is allowed to have an average game. When is the player of the season announced? If he doesn't win we riot.

His distribution has been poor all season, but I put that down to Moyes.

To be fair his kicking was shit because it was our brainless midfielders and defenders constantly putting him under pressure and not making themselves available for the ball. From unforced errors, he maybe had one or two.

That's why I have been saying all long LvG should be allowed to bring in his own goal keeping coach, who will work on DDG's distribution.
Needless to say that for that DDG also needs players who are not immovable objects, that's where LvG and his other coaches come in and teach our players how to move and make themselves available to receive the ball.

New video.

Focused on De Gea's improvement in dealing with crosses. Hope you enjoy!

Year upon year he is improving, and of course that is down to him learning and working hard.

But credit has to go to Chris woods for instilling that part of goalkeeping shown in the video above . You can actually hear De Gea shout " Keeeeppperrr!"

Won the BBC save of the season poll for his one against Suarez. Personally I think his save from Giaccherini was better.

I hope that whoever comes in to manage will deal with his tendency to sit right in his goal mouth and leave a lot of space between the back four and himself. It's probably the only thing that needs to be improved and I'd be getting him into weekly sessions with the back four and getting him to learn how to read these situations a bit better. You could tell after some run-ins with Vidic they've had a gentleman's agreement that he'll not come and do anything silly if Vidic is around.

One thing is for sure I am absolutely chuffed to bits at how much he's improved and chuffed for him. He's shown that he's adaptive and can improve himself on every front so his future really does look promising.

What a difference two years make! He is just excellent. Just hoping he can win player of the season for us.

actually that has turned out to be a bit of a curse - Nani then Valencia and then Carrick.

but yeah he is my player of the season so hope he wins it

His first season was very good though, he made some amazing saves. It's a complete myth that he looked like a flop and he's now 'turned it around' IMO.

Agreed, the only hole in his game now is his ability to judge coming off his line. Right now he is playing it safe and not risking coming out - which in some ways can help stop defensive confusion. but a few times he could come out faster and claim the ball. Either way it's just a small negative to his generally positive contribution.

every game?

When I saw the list, I knew he had it. In terms of pure shot-stopping, it was so simple yet so difficult. Great save and a very good season where his defence was more porous than we've come to expect. He should go from strength to strength, especially with some actual defenders to help him.

Yeah, that's one area of his game that he can definitely improve on.

I agree. He made a few errors and the media decided to focus on them and ignore all the good stuff he did so they basically made it look like he was shite. He has always been a cracking keeper he just struggled to adapt to the Premier League. Now he has every has finally realised that he is quality.

Easily winning that Player of the Year award tonight.

I'd say it was exaggerated a lot, I wouldn't say it was a myth though. He did make mistakes and I think he's admitted that himself. I'd say he had a tough time up until about Christmas in his first season (which I think he's admitted himself) then he was very good from there and is now the best keeper in the league for me. The bulking up helped him a lot, it is crucial in the English league. It's brilliant to see him go mad at our defence now for me as well, he looked terrified of doing it when he joined but he was only 19 years old so it would be quite over whelming. I think Fergie managed him really well with the management of him, he got him out the spotlight at the right time and then when he was recalled (vs Chelsea from what I remember?) he really turned it round.

With how shit we've been, DDG's development has been fast-forwarded. He has been bombarded with shots and crosses this season and has been astonishingly good. Is there a better keeper in the world right now on form?

The only thing I wanna see more of is saves from the penalty spot. But that's in an ideal world. He is fantastic the way he is.

deserved it unquestionably. To me, the best goalkeeper in the league comfortably at this moment.

Im not going to say hes improved a tremendous amount, because hes just filling his potential. He was always going to be this good and a few errors in his first season didn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. He has worked hard and was really committed, hes never allowed us to feel the void that was left by VDS. Congratulations to him for winning the well deserved awards too!

If you've been a goalkeeper you really know how difficult it is though. Confidence plays a huge role and sometimes it feels like everything is just going against you, you can make a few great saves but when you make that error then those saves might not be remembered. DDG didn't let anything get to him, fair play to him.
