What a game today! Hope he keeps it up.
The point is, he shouldn't have as many so called 'top pundits ect. on his case in the first place. The lad has just recently turned 22 and may have just played a big part in winning United this tie.
The criticism he has gotten has been out of order, no matter how much he needs to improve on crosses. He's not even that weak in that departement.
Let the Real/Marca/AS stalking begin.
If he sorts his aerial game out, he will be one of the best. And I've no doubt he will.
He was amazing tonight. Nothing that he hasn't done before though.
Oh, and what was that ridiculous kick-save about? Why did he kick it? Not slating him or anything, just wondering why he didn't use his hands?
but only because of his areal ability.
Got more distance than he would had he parried it with his hands, not sure whether that was his reasoning.
Don't get what the big deal is about keepers making saves with their legs, as long as the ball doesn't go in and it isn't easier to just pick it up or catch it then it is a perfectly viable and sensible option in many circumstances.
Not true. There was a lot of talk before his United career that he couldn't save long shots.
Yeah, but jesus, the ball was near head height! Again, not complaining, but surely it would've been easier to just push it wide? Much easier save to make too, and doesn't risk the ball going anywhere.
Fixed
Am I the only one who thought he was good, but nothing out of the ordinary by the standards he's played at this season?
He deserves the praise though, he doesn't get enough of it. Delighted for him.
Solid performance!! Realky pleased that he'll get credit for the performance! Still wish he'd hold some shots rather than parry them.
Still, he made some world class saves tonight and will take a lot of confidence from it!!
Nothing out of the ordinary? He was our match of our match behind Welbeck in my opinion. That first save from Coentrao was ordinary for you? The way he held onto the Khedira shot was just ordinary?
The way his body was set, I think that was the easiest way to save it.
His hands were on the wrong side because that's were he thought the ball was coming from, he managed to twist his body in such a way that he could move his legs quick enough
I dunno now, looking at that, it looks as though he could've easily palmed that around the post.
It was a great save, but he's being doing it all season! I suppose doing it on the bigger stage results in more praise.
Jones and Welbeck had just as good games, for me.
It was the time he had to make that save that made it.
I saw that Antohan, could you translate the gist of the article? Spanish has got a bit rusty but it seems they were just talking about his good performance more than saying he's off?
I dunno now, looking at that, it looks as though he could've easily palmed that around the post.
He does love to use his feet though.
I think the one he parried was the shot from Ozil and you really cant expect him to hold onto that one from so close. I was amazed he held onto the Khedira shot though. In real time it was brilliant to watch.
"He should have saved that with his hands"
feck right off, his job is to save it, who gives a shit what part of his body he uses?
