Looks bad in super slow mo. but really it was a fine strike. It would have been luck if he had gotten a hand on it,

I hate slow mo. It takes away the truly reality of fouls and the power of strikes.

It was a really fine strike. That thing came at great pace and he saw it much too late.

Definately not his fault.

Where was Carrick/Scholes? They are supposed to be tracking midfielders back no? fecking shambles.

He did quite well when coming for crosses today. Good save as well to deny their player the hat trick.

Very good punching from De Gea tonight

Great series of punches in a nervous and crowded area at the end. A less decisive keeper could've given away 2 points there, but he just killed the danger. He deserves a lot of credit for it, especially as it's usually considered his weakness.

Surely the pundits will focus on the first goal (something he really cannot be blamed for as the pace of the shot was extraordinary) and not mention his crucial save on Weiman and his aerial prowess towards the end

Very important save at 2-2. :)

Punched like a boss in the last five minutes.

dealt with them very well but not a mention of it from the commentators. Of course if he flapped they would be all over him.

Good game, did what he could when called upon and could do nothing for either goals imo

Great save from the header at 2-2. Good punching as well, although even by the end I still had no confidence in him coming out and not fecking up a punch.

I did find myself shouting ''What are you doing?!'' when he went punch-crazy near the end but he connected with every one of them and made a vital save at 2-2. He had a good game, even though Weimann's strike was right at him, it went in like a rocket.

Good game by him, not at fault for the goals, and did very well in the additional time. I just hope he can't start bagging a few clean sheets, it would be good for him but our defence and midfield aren't really helping at the moment.

Superb tonight anyone who said he was at fault for first goal is being unbelievably harsh.

Good performance from him and was showed alot of authority towards the end when it counted. Great save denying weimann his hattrick too. A shame the defence didn't protect him better.

Bit harsh, but by DDG's standards of shot stopping, he surely should've stopped that.

He's a cnut. I tweeted him that he wouldn't blame Hart for Villa's first goal and he has now blocked me!
Well, sometimes the abuse journalists get is horrific, I know it's tiresome to read time and time again you're a cnut etc. when you write a few good words about a team, or criticize the other.

But the thing that annoys me is the difference they see between de Gea and Hart.

Taylor is not a bad journo, his articles in Guardian are actually spot on, he's just acting like a cnut on Twitter when he tweets during games.

This forum exists in a bubble when it comes to De Gea, the entire media is supposedly biased against him, and when he gets beat by a shot that is right above his head, any criticism is part of this conspiracy. Conceding a goal like that doesn't matter, but making a save from a shot straight at him and barely reaching a couple of crosses means he had a good game on here. It's mental how much this guy is over-rated by United fans.

Or under-rated by journalists.

Ask people who don't think Hart is the greatest goalkeeper in the world what's their opinion of de Gea. Even non-United fans agree he's a good keeper with a huge potential, of course I'm not talking about those Scouse feckers.

Why would journalists under-rate him but United fans get his rating right? One of these groups of people has a rather obvious reason to think he's better than he is.

I don't think Hart is the greatest in the world, and my opinion of De Gea is that he isn't especially good at the moment, but has potential to be at the level of someone like Hart.

I can't believe how good those punches were at the end. Always made sure not to punch it weakly and put the team in danger. He's had a run of games and he looks like a brilliant number 1 for us and this is precisely why we shouldn't do the crazy keeper rotation that Fergie loves.

DDG has been superior to Hart this season imo. Hart has made far far more mistakes than DDG but that won't be highlighted because he's English and doesn't play for United.

Potential to be at the level of someone like Hart? Well, okay, that's your opinion. But it's a fecking hilarious one.
