Tyler said he was lucky after the deflected save, because it landed infront of him, no praise at all for the save.

That save off the defelected shot isn't getting enough credit. Fantastic reasctions to adjust his hand.

No chance with the goal, he couldn't even see it ffs!

Hopefully won't be long before performances like today are considered the norm and not excellent

To be fair that shot from Defoe was well taken.... His whole body said De Gea's left corner but he put it on the other side and Ferdinand's body kept it out of view until it was too late.

Great performance today!

Played very well today fair play to him. Could have done better with the goal, I thought.

I agree. I think he was fooled by Dafoe's drop of the shoulder and thought it was going in the other corner. Full credit to Dafoe though it was perfect execution.

In his Atletico days, he saved them many more times.

The best is still before him. Endless potential at this point.

Good game, but he could have done better with the worldwide recession & Middle East crisis.

Unsurprisingly, a late change to get the deflection should give you leeway, there's only so much reactions can do. Conceding after a block into the danger zone there is acceptable, he shouldn't have made the save in the first place!

He was equally as good (or similar to that) early on in the season, after his little hiccup, until being left on the bench for two league matches in a row in December. Glad to see he's back to himself. And screw keeper rotation. He's our number 1.

Seriously, how can anyone possible say he could have done anything about the goal? He's unsighted, it's clear as day in the replays!!

Are people seriously taking about De Gea for the Spurs goal? There was one person and one person only who could take the blame for the goal and thats Ryan Giggs.

We paid all that money for him yet he still hasn't given me the winning lottery numbers for next Saturday. Needs to improve.

It was poor block by Ferdinand, it's not De Gea's fault.

Excellent game overall.

That save from the deflection was class by the way, and that shouldn't be understated.

And in no way is he to blame for Defoes goal, He's unsighted by Ferdinand's positioning and will only have even known about Defoes shot after the balls past Ferdinand. He's struck it hard and fairly low, and it gives him no chance really.

Excellent game overall.

More likely good timing from Defoe. No one to blame for the goal bar Giggs. One of those moments...

DDG has been very solid these weeks. Great to see.

I think Rio didn't do well enough for the goal but I don't blame him nor DDG for it at all. Giggs messed up and Defoe was very quick to react. Given how we punished them this game this goal we conceded wasn't out of order.

His sight was blocked by Ferdinand and Defoe put it in the "wrong corner" which means that De Gea was moving the other way, not to mention that it was pretty close to the corner anyway. I don't think anyone would've made that save under those circumstances.

I have stated that I don't blame him, but he could still do a little better that being rooted to the spot.

The goal was all Giggs fault. Ferdinand perhaps could have shown Defoe to one side but that is being really critical. As to De Gea - he was unsighted and no way could he anticipate what Defoe would do.

Have you been a gk?

He was not rooted to the spot.

De Gea cannot make a decision until either Defoe or Ferdinand make a move. His best decision is then to stay roughly central and see how the play develops. Defoe natural habit is to strike quick and early. Defoe is an instinictive player - give him time and he will mess up more often than not.

In that positon where Defoe is running into space onto Ferdinand, Rio is very exposed as is De Gea.
