feck. If we only have Amos fit for Spurs we really are in a lot of trouble.

Not playing in the Spain U23 match vs Egypt due to some injury/fitness issues according to this guy https://twitter.com/#!/davidjaca

Hopefully not a serious one.

It's called internationalitis. Giggs suffered with it chronically, Rooney has had bouts of it and is even suffering an acute case of it now and it seems Cleverley might also be a member of our squad who infected it. It's highly contagious at Carrington, something to do with the damp conditions.

It's not terminal and it's never been known to last long enough to effect a club game which is very lucky so I wouldn't worry too much.

A thighstrain apparently. He didn't train yesterday.

He's supposed to do an interview for Punta Pelota (football chat show) tonight. If I'm still awake I'll let you know what he says.

Well don't come back 'til you have.

Not really, but come on, surely you're curious considering the rave reviews?

Yes Sir!!

Just seen the white txt....Oh for sure I'm curious, had a lot of family commitment over the weekend and missed a lot of things. At the end of the day I'm a fan and have been since 1964, so I really do want this guy to work as he could be in between the sticks for the next 20 yrs if he does. But he just makes nervous as anything.

Fair play, he seemed to have had a good game. But one swallow doesn't make a summer. The jury remains out for me at the moment.

Except of course this isn't just the first game where he had a decent performance in recent weeks.

The most important thing with De Gea is that his weak areas are improving. In a sense, it doesn't really matter to me that he's pulled off (another) outstanding full stretch save - that's what he's good at. Anyone who watched him in La Liga knows that he is outstanding in one on ones too (though hasn't had many opportunities with us yet).

The worry is and always has been his ability to deal with the physical nature of the prem. Coming for crosses, commanding his area, getting out of the crowd in corners - that kind of thing.

And for me he's getting better at that. There have been less flaps (Blackburn horror show) and he's cut out some great crosses too. That progress is all I need to keep the faith. The Lindegaard injury could well be the best thing (long term) that could have happened to the post-Edwin goalkeeping crisis.

He has already had three to four good games in a row. What are you going to say if he another good game this weekend? "Oh he has had only two good games in a row so I need to see a longer stretch"?

I think GBs position is totally understandable. I personally feel quite positive about DDG, but I decided to have faith in him some time ago, before his performances started to improve so dramatically. But he has had quite a tough settling in period, he has made some errors and it is natural some people will take longer than others to have their nerves soothed after that. 3 games, 4 games, even 10 games, if the jury is out for GB then the jury is out for him. Doesn't make him wrong. He might even look quite wise in a few weeks if DDG makes a horrific error that costs us points during the run in. Keepers like David James used to look pretty solid for weeks, even months on end, before making some monumental cock up. Who's to say DDG won't have similar tendencies? Not that I think he will, but if someone is reserving judgement for a bit longer, fair enough.

Well deserved :) I voted on the poll a few days ago and he was in the lead by a fair distance. Looking at the final totals he dominated right till the poll closed.

Well deserved, kept us in a few matches now... every time I watch that Chelsea save part of me still expects it to go in.

First save here was absolutely brilliant.

I think that save is nearly better technique wise than the Chelsea save. The Chelsea save was just...perfect in it's timing, along with the immense reactions. Had we lost that goal, our season would've collapsed.
