I'd much rather thrust the nerve of De Gea than test the nerve of Ben Amos at this stage, promising keeper he is.

De Gea's the much better goalkeeper, I think this much is clear.

Definitely Amos should play, De Gea doesn't deserve his place at the moment. That is obvious, but Amos hasn't got big game experience so he'll certainly play poorly.

Yeah why not Amos has done nothing wrong and looks to be a good keeper. De Gea has made constant mistakes since being here. So yes really.

He's only played in one game which we were in control of for most of the time. I doubt De Gea would have done anything wrong if it was him in Amos' shoes.

What a load of toss this post is.

DDG has performed well, made some mistakes and is a bit low on confidence. He has played well in a few big games while coming to a new team, a new league with a constantly shuffled back line. If people were expecting VDS consistency right out he gate then I'm sorry your disappointed but I have every faith in this lad. The experience and the coaching/staff will allow him to succeed here I'm sure of it.

As far as Amos, he will surely play poorly? He might have a blinder you never know but fergie rates his ability otherwise he wouldn't be here so I don't think Amos playing well is out of the realm of possibility.

My apologies if this post comes off as a "top red" or "holier than thou" but I think DDG gets more stick then he deserves ( he definitely deserves some but it's getting a bit OTT)

it's posts like this i refuse to take seriously. How can you dumb all that down (the constant mistakes) as if it's happened consistently for over six months? Goodness we have such short memories.

He's made lots of mistakes as we all know, Amos hasn't done anything wrong. He's not much experience but that doesn't mean we should assume he's gonna fail.
I agree with the rest of you that it's clear that he'll turn out to be the best keeper of all time. On form De Gea shouldn't start though, but he will though. What will be the consensus on here if he makes another costly mistake today?

Amos made the worst fumble I have ever seen midweek whilst under no pressure.

Make of that what you will.

The reason Amos hasn't made any mistakes is because he's only played in one game for us. If he had played the majority of league games this season like De Gea has, I'd expect there to be several mistakes in there.

Christ. you're on a roll.

De Gea clearly going to be the best of all time?

How can Amos do anything wrong when he hasnt even played 2 games?

You already assumed Amos would have a poor game and now you say why we're assuming so when nobody has.

Read the two posts again but with your sarcasm detector on! And yes I am on a roll.

Never know with this place. and am not the only one who took it literally tbf..

It would be a very risky decision to choose a young talented keeper with little experience over a young talented keeper with the experience DDG has. People need to get off his back and realise that he will improve over time. It is inconceivable to expect the finished article at this stage.

The other day he was comparing Hart to De Gea, ignoring the fact Hart is older and has much more PL experience. Useless analyst and another twat from the Redknapp clan.
