He's young, and will be a great keeper. Don't think he was at fault for either goal today.
maybe not but hardly what i'd call a confident man right now. evra did him no favors on the second.

Starting to a bit of Foster in him.
Not a commanding keeper. No positioning. Very very poor performance. SAF messed up picking him again.
VDS was right, he just isn't ready for the Prem. The GK scout should be sacked.

2nd goal wasn't his fault, but he should be saving it tbh.
I've always said that he'll turn out to be our long term option and Lindegaard will get more games short term.
Even if you absolve him of blame for both goals, his mistakes influence the game. It was obvious to everyone that he looked very nervy whenever the ball came near him in the second half. It can't exactly help our defenders knowing even simple balls in might be spilled.
Regardless of what he may or may not become he's a liability at the moment. He actually managed to give Andy Carroll confidence, that's how bad he was.
Near post again. Should've done better.
First and foremost - Protect your fecking near post and don't spread your legs FFS. If they score a goal at the far post - so what, you've done what you had to do and that's it.
Sigh

Even if we can't blame him, we still will.
ITV, much like the rest of the media, are a fecking disgrace. Reina made as many mistakes in that match as De Gea did, he just got the luck De Gea didn't get.
Don't spread your legs? You really don't understand how it works, do you?

I've stuck up for De Gea every time he's been criticised but not anymore. He's made far too many howlers this season. You can blame the defending all you want but the Keeper is the last man, he should be there to save the day.
He is terrible on crosses, looks nervous as hell - he looks like an 11 year old kid in the nets and has no presence whatsoever.
He does make the odd good save but that's not enough. He's playing for Manchester United, not Colchester United.

Ferguson made two mistakes imo.
1) Completely blanking De Gea out gave ammo to his critics, he should've brushed it aside and allowed him to play in the filler matches
2) Picking Anfield for his first game back was not a good choice. Massive pressure, and the guy hasn't played for over a month.
His attempt at dealing with Carrick's through-ball was a joke, he was incredibly lucky not to concede. So yeah, he made one mistake, exactly as many as De Gea.
