Darts

Last day of the round robin is cool. Thornton v Price a good match. So many permutations in some groups.

9 dart shoot out to end the round Robin, expect Thornton's experience to come through
:lol:Was totally confused. I thought it was a normal 501 leg, not a straight score-off. Harsh on Dmitri.
Pissed that Whitlock lost. Great game though.

It's knockout arrows from here on in, tonight's matches:

Gerwyn Price v Brendan Dolan

Phil Taylor v Jeff Smith

Michael Van Gerwen v Robert Thornton

Peter Wright v Darryl Fitton.

Got to fancy 4 'home wins' tonight from that list. Jeff Smith is a very good player on his day but I think after the other day Taylor will come out fighting.
Price is finding ways to win this year, MvG is unstoppable and Wright will simply be too good.

Great fight back from Dolan last night and explosive 3 dart outs and his reward/punishment: QF against MVG!. Durrant v Barney seems to be the one they are all talking about and Wades match against Benito will be close to call.

Missed it last night, was at a shitty awards bash. Lol, Wade BvdP not so close!

Wow that Ando-Noppert match. Noppert is going to be some player, not even featured at a worlds yet!

Durrant looks straight out of a Middlesbrough council estate.

No BVDP way off the boil and Wade comfortably dispatched him, all the BDO boys gone but a big mention for Noppert what a future lies ahead there he was magnificent. Overall QF line up consists of most of the usual suspects.

Also hard lines for Jamie Hughes in his match against Dobey in the opener was compulsive viewing. Been a good tournament and a nice build up to the Ally Pally in Dec.

Noppert was brilliant all tournament, defo one to watch. Wade looking clinical, which pleases me.

Hughes fecked up three clear darts at 24 tbf. Only caught the last leg of that. Both Barney and Anderson had epic battles- there is still some quality in the BDO. Usual suspects in the quarters, agreed, but with Wright, RVB and Wade all bang back on form, hopefully it can be interesting.

Snakebite v Power will be some watch given the way Peter Wright is throwing , for the life of me just can't call it. Nice to see Wade and Barney playing so well. Shaping up to be a very interesting weekend of darting action.

Reckon Taylor will get Wright back, but will be happy to be proved wrong. Yep potentially great weekend ahead- RVB v Ando sounds brilliant.
An inform RVB could well be the man who can beat the green machine.
Not sure who MVG's got in the draw. You do always think that the deeper these tournaments go and the longer the format, the harder he is to beat. RVB dug deep today though and was unusually zen. Maybe he can beat him. Wade averaging over 100 is dangerous too with his finishing. Am excited about the weekend darts- game against Arse is making me nervous though. Easier when you don't have one team- am happy to cheer on Ando, RVB, Wade and Wright, so can hedge my bets a bit...

Will post proper lineup after in order of play but for now:

Taylor v Wright

Mvg v Dolan

Doby v Wade

Barney v Anderson.

From what I've seen the first 2 QF tonight are:

Michael Van Gerwen v Brendan Dolan

Phil Taylor v Peter Wright.

The Taylor - Wright match was excellent. That burst of massive crucial checkouts from Wright was impressive and seemed to kill off Taylor.

Looking forward to RVB v Ando tonight. Is it afternoon semis then final in the evening tom?

RVB v Ando is an odd match. Talk about topsy-turvy...

Weird Ando still odds on when so close and Barney has the throw.

Kick of a world champion, he have too much scoring power for Wade
Yep, reckon Wade will get blown away, maybe 16-8 or 9.
Feel a bit sorry for RVB. He had a good tournament and Ando was awesome those last few legs. Must have averaged c120.

Yeah, that's why I have some hope he can beat MVG.
Sorry didn't get back yesterday was away but you never know Peter Wright throwing the way he is may have a say v MVG. Action starts in ten mins time. Two semis and the final tonight, not budging from the screen today staying well put, feet up relax and enjoying the darts.

Wright doing a great job to stay in this, but feels like only a matter of time before MVG pulls a bigger lead out.

Urgh, just got up. Missed that one!

Wade is such a dogged battler. Shows you how meaningless averages can be, if we didn't know already.

Yep Adi Lewis lost 5-3 with a 108 avg to Dobey who avg 97.

Wonder how key Wade missing 3 darts at 40 to make it 9-7 prove to be

Wade missed another opportunity there.

Remember Taylor lost against RVB with a record 116 average. Mental stuff.
Whoever wins needs to raise their game in the final.

Wow that was a nervy ending. Wasn't expecting that.
