Darts

Line-up for this evenings games:

Lewis v Chizzy

Taylor v Wade

Anderson v Barney

MVG v Wright

Semis and the final tomorrow.
Just blundered into this on ITV4 while flicking. RVB v Ando on now. I like it when that happens- beats a rerun of Bullseye.

The semis and the final on tomorrow and over the next few weeks Perth Auckland Sydney and Japan as far as I know, Snakebite was minus the " war paint" tonight on account of the heat.

Very good comeback from Anderson 8-4 down won 7-1 over the next 8 legs to win 11-9
Happy that Ando won. I missed the second night. Weird seeing Wright looking vaguely 'normal'.

The World Cup of Darts starts tomorrow Thurs 2nd on Sky obviously Holland, England, Scotland favourites and I will post a line-up after.

Ah cool, although the tournament is pretty bizarre, eg the doubles.

I quite like the World Cup, the players sometimes seem even more passionate than when they're only representing themselves! Expect the usual candidates to do well i.e. England, Scotland, Netherlands, Belgium & Australia. Assuming the pairs will be Lewis/ Taylor, Anderson/ Wright, MvG/ RvB, Huybrechts brothers & Nicholson/ Whitlock.

Edit: Just read Scotland team is Anderson & Thornton. Odd, seems a much weaker team but there must be a reason for it. Kyle Anderson is partnering Whitlock for Oz rather than Nicholson which is probably fair enough.

Yeah Wright not being in it is a bit weird. Good to have some changes I suppose- Wade has played for England before, but there is a large element of repetition when it comes to the line-ups. They seem to have expanded it- odd countries with players you've never heard of in it like Czech Rep, Hungary and the Philippines.

Line up SS1 I would presume: @ 7p.m

Hungary v Thailand

USA v Philippines

Norway v Gibraltar

Denmark v Sweden

Belgium v Poland

Scotland v New Zealand

Netherlands v Russia

Australia v Germany.

Tbh, it's a tactic I've used in the past too. Drop a silent one as you get your darts out of the board.

Oh man, Norway v Philippines with Gibraltar up after that:(

Triple post, but wow, that Scotland v NZ match was excellent. That Harris guy for NZ was brilliant- took a bit of Ando magic and Thornton remembering he can be a class player to edge them through. First match with actual world class darts being thrown.

Almost weird seeing Part throw down.
Part was great this afternoon. Brilliant 161 checkout in the pairs. Nice to see the old master still has it on his day.
Taylor and Lewis are playing like shite. Dutch were awful the other day too.

Atmosphere is crazy. The fans singing Taylors name for literally his entire match was bizarre.

It was nice of Lewis to take it in good spirits, really, plenty would have got the hump.
Yeah, agreed. Maybe the fact he was under no threat helped. Odd seeing someone kick off on the 19s.
MVG making hard work of it. No matter how much they expand the tournament, the QF line-up is always pretty much the same.

Wow Taylor and Lewis looking back to their best. That's more like it.

Meh, triple post again. The final's a good watch. Barney on fire. Netherlands' to lose, despite Phil's excellent win over MVG.

Did anyone catch the end last night? Tears before bedtime for MvG and Lewis. Something about over celebrating. To be fair virtually all darts players are guilty of this, Taylor used to slate people for it while doing it himself. Etiquette of darts dictates you get your darts out of the board as quickly as possible whether you've scored 0 or 180. Celebrate when you've won a leg or the match. Darts seems to be a sport where there are few good losers (or winners for that matter) out there which is a shame because it's a great sport to watch.

1st big upset was King 10-5 Wade
Norris missed too many darts at doubles another day could have been 5-2 up but was 6-1 down and lost 10-1 to Gary Anderson

Peter Wright out classed his opponent 10-5

Was away the weekend but back for this week and the World Matchplay, tonight's lineup:

SS2 @ 7 P.M

Jelle Klaasen v Steve Beaton

Raymond Van Barneveld v Brendan Dolan

Phil Taylor v Robbie Green

Michael Smith v Simon Whitlock.

Not sure King beating Wade is a big upset. Merv still good on his day.
Good win for Dolan over RVB. Talk about hitting the right shot at the right time.

That was a good night's entertainment and it will hot up even more so on the weather front and on that Blackpool stage not to mention the standard and the averages. Also nice to see some needle brewing between Gerwyn Price and Adrian Lewis before their upcoming match, I for one love that edge to matches.

Not only that it was the way he consistently got down to the checkouts leg on leg and taking them out. Did anyone give Steve Beaton a chance though? Either way I'd say Power has one handy run to the semis but he got a scare v Green tonight but no doubt he will up the ante if needed.

Yeah I hate it when people frown upon a bit of needle. The more the merrier. Only seen two nights, but good today. Kong put up a good fight.

Beaton is smooth. Not seen the draw. Am sure it will end with MVG in the final v whoever though.

Tonight SS3 @ 7p.m

Michael Van Gerwen v Kyle Anderson

Adrian Lewis v Gerwyn Price

Am watching it on delay, but wow Smith v Beaton. Great match and the old master was brilliant under pressure.
