Darts

Van Gerwen is a proper freakoid. What a fat wanker he is. Got lucky aswell Anderson should have punished his arrogance.

MvG plays the darts of his life to win 4-3

They really were. He was a few darts away from defeat but he pulled it out of the fire like a champ. He had to win 3 successive sets under massive pressure knowing he couldn't afford to miss, all against a guy that was throwing 140+ for fun. MVG took too long to get into his stride and Anderson hardly did anything wrong all match. But when MVG is on it, he cannot be stopped. The shorter format will always produce shocks and but now the longer format now will see him really motor.

That was the biggest game of the tournament so far, Anderson on form is extremely hard to beat and he was hitting the doubles too. Somehow MvG dug deep and produced darts can could win him the title. Lewis vs Wade will be the next big game.

Some of my pre tournament predictions have come true, Barney huge disappointment, and Peter Wright doing well. Biggest disappointment so far has to be Phil Taylor though....

Not for me. Great to see the patronising one get dumped out. It's been a good tourney so far. Anderson should have punished Van Gerwen just there.

It's looking like a Lewis-Whitlock final for my money.

White missed tops to make it one set each, went 3-0 down to Whitlock and is now 4-3 down after a comeback. Great game.

So tonight we have:

MVG v Webster
Lewis v Wade

MVG will beat Webby pretty comfortably I'd have thought but if Lewis is not on it then Wade will take him out playing like he did yesterday.

Was gutted for Anderson. He is so good to watch when on song but yep, credit to MVG. Just don't want him to win it really...Wade - Lewis should be good. That stat about Wade never averaging 100 at the worlds was surprising. He might need to to beat Lewis.

Just looking at the betting. Struggling to get half decent odds even with accumulators.

Here we go. Mighty Mike on first. Webster is a battler but he can't stay with MvG. I'm expecting a big display from MvG tonight and to put a marker down ahead of his probable meeting with Aidy Lewis.

Webby is a battler but he'll have to pull off some mighty outshots cos he is going to be heavily outscored. Christ, forgot how late that Wade-Lewis semi finished the other year.

Got MVG to average over 98.5. Expect Lewis to comfortably dispatch of Wade.

Despite his ability I just expect Wade to crumble every time at the business stage, it's what he does at the worlds. I'm expecting 100 from MvG tonight.

121 MvG outshot in the first leg.

And 124 in the next.

And then 139.

He's fecking on it big time. A set gone in the blink of an eye.

What odds on MVG?

1.89 on betfair. I assumed he would carry on the form from the end of the Anderson match.

Me too. I always got the impression that he doesn't practise, nor want the win enough.

Balls, my mate had MVG and Lewis to hit most 180s and Everton and Spurs to win. Should have got on that one.

fecking unreal. Webby thinks he's in there with a chance of the set and 3 seconds later MvG has 180 to bring him back down. Then another huge checkout to clinch it. Only Lewis at his very best can stop MvG getting this maiden title.

He's taking the piss there with that 170 off his first 3 darts of the leg. T20, T20 then bull.

Well done Webby! Set on the board, took advantage of some stupid piss taking from MvG.

What the feck? It's like a switch in MVG has been turned off.

He turns it on when he needs to at the business end of sets though. 144 checkout to add to the list. Webby is trying everything he can.

Missed most of that last set including the 144- was on pet feeding duty. Webby has had a couple of chances, but it's a bit of a steamroller job.

He's gonna lose his throw here.

Bloody hell! Godawful leg, but Webby still hanging on...

This comeback is on and Webby never gives up as we know. Getting off the stage will do MvG the world of good, he needs to clear his head. He'll win it in this set I reckon.

Van Gerwen is a fecking berk. Showboating with misplaced arrogance against a guy who has won a World Title, that you lose your focus is hardly a surprise. Yes he's an amazing player, but he's also a bit weak in the head. Taylor never showed that weakness even when playing utter shite. He was let off by Anderson the other day, and Webster is perhaps not quite good enough to finish him off. Lewis won't let him off.

Freakoid.

Was an odd game. Lewis will fancy his chances seeing that I imagine.

EDIT: A bit of humility for a change.

Will he lose his focus against Lewis though? I put it down to his age. Can't imagine it being a trait for much longer.

On a side, that dick made me sweat massively for my bet. Think he made it by about .2. £76 back. Not sure what I'll go for in the Lewis match.

He's only a young guy, it's easy to forget that. He's an immense talent and the recklessness of youth comes into it sometimes. That could be his downfall if he plays Lewis. Lewis is a champ and knows what it takes to win here. MvG has to strive for perfection, he seems to like playing in bursts instead of a consistent performance through the entire match. He's only 24, he's going to win multiple crowns here anyway so it's not a biggie.

It's a fair point about his age and inexperience in major finals. He just seems to have been around forever and is so talented. Tbf, Lewis is one to go off the boil too. I think it's only really Taylor that can maintain throughout these very long format matches.
