Darts

I actually like the guy, but he really was acting the cnut. Whitlock didn't cover himself in glory walking off either, and he's one of my faves.

Wade does keep getting into these stupid spats more and more- remember him accusing Lewis of stamping on a floorboard in the world semis a couple of years back? Daft thing is, players like Taylor seem to feed off this stuff, but it seems to affect Wade's game for the worse, generally.

EDIT: I am a fan of both tbh.

Oh god, that was hilarious, with everyone checking the boards, and the commentators debating Lewis' weight being a factor.

Who was it in the game that was complaining there was too much wind on the stage?

Wade'll end up like Nicholson(another one of my faves), in a way, all controversy/attitude, and in the end it's themselves it does the most damage to.

What has Wade said/done?

 that was Lewis the big fanny.

 You can just imagine Lewis saying 'I'm not doing it on purpose, I'm just a fat bastard'. Was the wind thing the same match, I can't remember. It happened at another tournament not so longer ago too- might have been the Grand Prix.

Hope Wade can sort his head out, he is a great player on form. The fact he has slid to sixth in the rankings and not won anything in ages is not a great sign.

Lewis is destroying Thornton here and he hasn't really got out of second gear. Him v MVG again should be a cracker of a semi-final tomorrow.

I thought it was him, Wade or Nicholson.

I think it was Nicholson that complained about Huybrechs(sp?) bringing his girlfriend to games as she was distracting.

Damn darts kerfuffles are fun...

:lol:I thought he stopped bringing her because he got pissed that they kept showing her on the big screen between every shot?

I can just imagine his voice saying, "I can't bloody 'elp it mate!", getting just a tad squeaky. I think it was separate matches, I can't really remember.

Yeah, Wade's great when things are going right, and a proper exciting player to watch. Hopefully he'll get on the right track. Plus his walk on song is great, which is always a bonus.

Perhaps, I remember Nicholson complaining about her though. Distracting the crowd, probably himself too to be fair, trying to get a sneaky downshirt peek from the stage.

You wouldn't blame him for that. There are pics of her in this thread somewhere.

fecking awesome from Barney. I've avoided this thread for the last couple of hours after my wife threatened to kill herself if I watched RVB v MVG, but hell it was worth the wait. Barney coming from 4-1 down to win was like watching the great man of old. Love watching Barney on form- one of the most fluid, naturally gifted players ever.

Not sure about these tournaments where you have the semis then the final on the same night. The final always seems to be a bit flat.

Missed last nights action. Will be watching tonight. Taylor big favorite again. Might be unpopular, but I would like to see Wade win. this time.

Yeah his action is very smooth. Would love to throw like that. looks so easy.

Don't like the guy one bit, but geez, when he's good, he borders on the ridiculous. So smooth you'd nearly believe the targets are the full size of the board to him.
MvG is running out of steam
Isn't he playing in like every tourney possible? Perhaps he needs to take a break from a lot of the smaller ones, perhaps the commentators need to stop pushing and pressuring him as the darting Jesus.

Aye, but the alternative is having a night just for the finals, unless they have some interesting exhibition matches ahead of it?

Wouldn't mind that, especially over Lewis, Taylor and Barney.

Why don't you like Barney?

Tbh, I can't even remember, might be the way he sulks when off form, but that'd be unfair, isn't that to do with some depression problems he has?

Not sure. He had those blackmailing issues a while back and has struggled with his confidence at times. I've always been a big fan. Was great when he joined the pdc and provided a genuine threat to Taylor. Great to see him win a major again earlier this year.

I wasn't really watching back then tbh, only really got into seeing it on tv a few years back, only watching the odd game before that.

Definitely a better game when Barney, Lewis and co are providing a proper challenge to Taylor.

Barney winning the world title in his first year in the pdc was amazing. Was 3-0 down in sets but came back to win 7-6 in a final shootout leg.

If Phil doesn't win this Masters he must be on drugs or taking bribes......

Eh? It's a quality semi-finals line-up with Barney, Wade and Lewis. Taylor probably will win, but the last four are the most successful four players of the last five years, arguably.

Hope so. Would kind of be nice to see a final without Taylor in it just for the sake of variety.

Hell, it's looking one way traffic with Taylor v Wade.

Wade's shenanigans not affecting Phil the least bit. In fact he's being annihilated. 9-1 at the break, don't even know why they want to go for a break with that kinda score.

Flight nonsense aside, much as I like Wade, this is the most abject display I have ever seen from a top ranked sportsman.
