Darts

What a match. MVG on the double 8. Lewis is class at his best.

Damn can't watch this! Please post results cos I can't be arsed looking for them. And also let me know when MVG calms the feck down so I can start watching darts again.

Stu you missed a blinder. feck MVG's celebrations, focus on the darts!

Ah OK. Never tried to get a stream for darts. Slow start from Wade.

Just read about that game on the PDC app I forgot I had  what a game.

Yeah it was class. I seem to keep saying 'that was the best I've seen in years' in this tournament. So many matches have been that good.

Wade's awfulness is being magnified by Taylor's mammoth 114+ average...

At least Wade is waking up but christ this match feels so slow and like a slightly dull marathon after the 100mph Lewis-MVG sprint.

I'm talking to myself, but what the hell? Wadey back from 6-1 and 7-2 down to 10-10:eek:

Come on man .. Updates!!!

Wade broke back! Taylor's let him off in quite a few legs, but was a classy 170 set up for the double top from Wade. Back with throw going into the break at 13-12 to Taylor with Wade to throw next.

I'm well pleased for Wade whatever happens here he seems to be finding a bit of form. I sympathise massively with what he's been through.

Yeah he's had a tough ride and did well beating Anderson and Whitlock in epics. He just had a shitter of a leg and got broke for 14-12 though...

Was an odd match- Taylor annihilating Wade for the first 8 or 9 legs, a Taylor lull and a Wade comeback then Taylor powering on from 11-11. Taylor looked vulnerable at times missing a few doubles but hell, he still had the tournament high average of 107.61!

Tomorrow must be the first time Taylor and Lewis have met in a major final.

Just watched the final. feck Stu get Sky, cannot believe there has been no comment on it . Well played Taylor 111+ average over 31 legs! Lewis awesome at 106+ but 18-13 in the end. Could so easily have been 15-15 except for a couple of wired shots. Amazing quality match though. Taylor's ability to deliver just when needed never ceases to amaze.

If the result had gone the other way, I might have done, but I can't stand seeing that smug, arrogant, cheating bastard winning.

Had Lewis hit one of those doubles to break at 15-13, he'd have won. Taylor was rattled and he'd have lost two of his breaks. Finest of margins in darts.

I feel I have made this comment here before... But what the feck has happened to James Wade? He's literally lived off a diet of darts and larger for the last 3 years?? He's let himself go big time.

I just heard that Sydney is hosting some PDA invitational thing (didn't hear exactly what it was) that said Taylor, Wade, VG, RVB, Whitlock and some others that I didn't catch next month and my mate wants to go for his birthday which is on then.

Should be a good night. Haven't followed the premier league for a good 3 years.

edit: Just googled his apparent depression related weight gain. Honestly didn't know that.

Yeah Wade has been through the mill. I sympathise massively as I'm in a similar position, except I'm not a world class darts player!

Nice to see Phil back to his best. He keeps getting written off and keeps coming back winning Majors. Incredible career.

Van Gerwen and Lewis represent a good strong future for the sport too.

Yeah that's a shame for him. I'll tuck the 'fat cnut' insults back in the top pocket because I honestly wasn't aware. (Although I noticed some 'James Wade is a fat speccy cnut' thread when I googled it.. Rough shit that is.)

It sucked balls not hearing Sid Waddell the other night. "Grievous Bodily TUNGSTEN!"

Good to hear John Gwynne is retiring. I hate the way he punctuates nearly every sentence with a stupid fake forced laugh.

No! God I love John Gwynne. All started when my usually-reserved dad who doesn't let anything bother him picked up on him shouting on Soccer Saturday. "Why does he always have to shout?" before going off pn a little rant. I found it hilarious. Been something of a cult hero for me since then. I remember meeting him at the Galpharm last year. Quite possibly the best day of my life...

He just annoys me in that he always laughs at whatever he says, which is invariably not remotely funny. Him, John Champion and a few others can reduce the enjoyment of anything they commentate on. With Gwynne it's more about him than the actual sport he is commentating on- he is misguided if he thinks tune in just cos he is on. Nice gesture from Lewis to give him a mention though.

The commentating is going to be bland as feck for a while.

It will improve if anything. Get John Part doing it.

In fairness, just the other day I was saying to someone that I enjoyed Part commentating, has an interesting outlook on things.

He is pretty good and obviously has a lot of credibility as a double world champion. I remember him saying he does work as a spotter for the cameras too cos he knows the combos and which way different players prefer to go better than anyone. Peter Manley was quite good when he was on too.

Why do you say this as a matter of interest?

I'm sure you've played darts. You know when a dart misses. He even paused, realised he got away with it, and took the leg. Sooner he hits his demise and starts losing to turkeys the better.

People will say that he is darts, but it's more self-sufficient now. Lewis, Wade, van Gerwen etc. are becoming celebrities in their own right.

I never seen that before. I don't really like Taylor, I think he comes off as a wanker. He is brilliant though and great to watch.

Yeah Lewis, Wade and Van Gerwan are definitely celebrities at this stage.

He looked up and got away with one dart.

WHAT A feckING CHEATING cnut MATE.

When I first heart about that 'cheating' thing I fully expected this huge video full of cheating and he robbed some poor kid of his wheelchair or somehting such was the beatup in the article. He throws a dart, see's that it's not what the ref called it and went 'meh, ref called it..' and nobody really saw.

 I just found it funny the whole 'cheat' stigma attached to it.
