Do you think this is a real thing about RVPs injury? Obviously there were some rumours around it but its one of those things which looks like completely made up just to justify van Persies fitness and form.. TBF and don't want sound harsh or idiotic but this could be a good thing for us but nothing on physioroom or anywhere to confirm that..

I'm not so sure. We will find out in press conference. But it makes sense why we signed Falcao if RVP is injured.

So you don't have a soft spot for Cantona? Keane? Robson? Whoever was your idol at united as a child? They meant nothing to you the second they ceased to be employed by Manchester United?

United is nothing without the players, fans, managers and various other people who have shaped the club and its ethos. We don't have statues of the name Manchester United outside the ground we have statues of the holy trinity, Busby and Ferguson. It would probably be an exaggeration to say Welbeck was the embodiment of United's belief in young local players brought through the academy but he's a hell of a lot closer than anyone else in the squad to being that. I wish him well at Arsenal or any other club and I don't see what's wrong with that.

Feel a bit differently about players that spend their best years at the club. When anyone who leaves while they still have someone to offer I rarely want them to do well. If they're playing for a rival then I would actively want them to fail, on the basis that I actively want their new club to fail.

cnuts cheering when the reporter said he hasn't a medical, hope the feckers end up with up with Sanogo until the new year.

Look, arsenal are in the shit at the moment and That's exactly where we should leave them. Don't let him go to arsenal.

So Arsenal fans aren't assholes huh? Cheering when hearing Welbeck's not having a medical and making monkey gestures? Ok. Clearly I was wrong for judging them. I'd be much happier with Chelsea winning the league than Arsenal.

It's a bunch of 15-year old's who probably all think they're crazy. Take a bunch of Chelsea fans that age, or even our fans, and you'd probably get similar results. Pretty much every club will have sections of the support like that.

Don't worry with Sanogo, I expect Chelsea will stay above Arsenal.

Similair in playing styl? Falcao makes more runs in one match than Rooney and RVP do in a season combined. Falcao is like the rich mans Cavani.

It's not like Rooney and van Persie are players who do their work by barely moving around like Gomez or Dzeko. Both offer quite a lot of vertical movement and runs beyond defenders. Falcao has similar movements and isn't like Cavani who also offers horizontal movement and stretches opposition defences.

Welbeck simply isn't a prolific enough goalscorer.

Whenever Welbeck's played up front, he's been prolific. Playing him out wide won't make him prolific.

Falcao is nothing like Rooney and RvP. He's a poacher but has a great skillset and before his injury was the best pure #9 in the world arguably. Also I don't think RvP is in his prime. Think his prime ended once he won the title with us.

The fact that van Persie was still able to score goals last season when the whole team's performed poorly shows that he's still playing at his best. I don't deny that Falcao has a great skill set. However, van Persie does as well, but Falcao's quicker and stronger than van Persie is. If van Persie isn't available for the whole season, we're looking to move him on, and Welbeck wants to leave, then signing Falcao makes sense.

Look, I don't deny that Falcao isn't great. He's one of the best strikers in the world. It's just that, with Rooney and van Persie, is Falcao really necessary? If we never had van Persie and only had Rooney, Welbeck, and Wilson in our team, then I'd say that getting Falcao makes sense. However, at this moment, Falcao's unnecessary for me, but with Welbeck looking to leave, we can't go with Wilson being the 3rd choice striker.

I am hoping they go back there at 11 to show their reactions when they realise they're stuck with Sanogo.

That would be priceless . Looks like they'll get Huntelaar tbh. Decent goalscorer but getting old now. Will probably get around 10-15 goals. Not enough to win the league imo and won't get many assists, which I think Welbeck would have. Welbeck would have suited their system better because of his movement and link up play. Huntelaar will essentially play the same role as Giroud, target man.

.

Steady!
He will never ever be "prolific", he's no Van Nistelrooy, but he could tick in 12-15 a year maybe In the right set up

We shouldn't sell him to a rival club esp Arsenal. If they ask for Welbeck, we should propose an exchange for Ramsey with a straight face. Feckin Arsene wouldn't even let us have Vermaelan... Smalling plus cash for Vermaelan? Piss off...

fecking ridiculous that we've done this.

best be a tasty fee.

If it's less than £15m it's a joke. And not a very funny one.

of course it is a done deal. So much smoke the first time, people really think they didnt want him? They dont have any other option left.

Of course I don't mean prolific in the sense that he'd bang in 30+ goals a season at this moment. However, he's capable of proving himself like Sturridge did when he received regular match time at his favoured role.

If it's less than 20 it's a joke.

He's an established footballer, playing for a rival we are directly trying to replace and is young. Imagine if it was the other way around.
