Really good finish for the second goal. I still think it was right to let him go though.

That grin after he scored the second! No one was more surprised than him that he'd bagged both. Chuffed for him :)

hehe i knew this thread would be at the top of that page!

well done Welbz, 2 goals, good nights work!

We have lost a really good player. What more is there to read into?

We've gained a player that's fifty times the goalscorer and a better player too. All I'm saying is Danny has done this before. Why people are panicking I don't know.

We are really going to regret letting him go. To arsenal of all fecking places. Daft.

He will still feck things up regularly but he's got all the attributes to be a top class striker. It's a great move for him though and I'm pleased for him.

This is going to hurt,we should never have sold him ,we will regret this the way we still regret selling Pogba.

He is going to keep improving. I'd still prefer Welbeck for the next 10 years

Because that player cost three times as much, is five years older, and hasn't been at the level you're saying for nearly a year now due to injuries.

Obviously people are concerned. I am.

It didn't get a bump when he scored, it was bumped by someone saying "that;s why we sold him" after he missed a chance.

And i'm pretty sure that's exactly what happens for players who have recently left. Just watch the Kagawa thread go if he starts doing well at Dortmund or if Hernandez bangs a few in at Madrid.

And the goals.

Every goal will be like a knife through the heart.

Zup Zup, Say Nada, sweet prince.

Is there a better striker in world football than Danny Welbeck?

Still happy to see him score. Was one of my favourite players while here.I guess he'll just have to be one of my favourite oppo players now.

He has never fecked things up regularly.

Or perhaps a 23 year old striker is improving? Best conversion rate in our squad last season.

This. His 'finishing' was better than anyone in our squad last season and when given a good run of games as a striker he got 7 goals in 8 games. I would have rather kept Welbeck and sold either one of Rooney/RVP considering how much younger he is.

For feck's sake. Not even being proved right on here is going to make his future success any less of a ball ache.

Here goes anyway.

Can't finish, aye?

Nope. That didn't help. What the feck were we thinking? :(

Who the feck knows? He's only 23. We're probably gonna have to watch him banging in goals for Arsenal for the next decade. :(

fecks sake people what did you want him yo do, sit on our bench until he was 27? We have Rooney, van Persie and Falcao at the club, all are far better players. It sucks losing welbeck but he would never fulfill his potential if we forced him to be a squad player for a long time like what was going to happen if he stayed. And don't say you would get rid of Rooney, van Persie and Falcao just so he could start. Its daft.
