Yeah but with Law it seems genuine (looking at photos) it's so insincerely over the top now. I didn't expect him to celebrate but I don't mind that he did, much like I don't think Arsenal fans should care about RVP celebrating against them. It was hardly like Tevez celebrating against us in fairness

Can't believe the media's portrayel today is that we lost on on selling him and using Falcao as a stick to but us with. Other than the goal last night, he was poor. LVG has got a fair few decisions wrong this year, however selling Welbeck wasn't one of them.
We were getting relegated when Denis Law scored and didn't celebrate, it's a different situation entirely. Personally I've never been a fan of not celebrating against your old club, if you score you have every right to enjoy it with your teammates and fans. If anything it's disrespectful to the club you now play for to not celebrate. I'm not happy for him cause it's at our expense, but I really don't care that he celebrated.

If Danny played like he did yesterday and continuously kept scoring, he'd be very highly rated because of the goals he scores.

Welbeck did more for Arsenal last night then RVP and Falcao have done in about 90% of their games for us this season.
Well I doubt he'll receive a dodgy back-pass in both the semi-final and final.
Perhaps not but Welbeck worked his socks off to get that. He was constantly harrying our defenders and forcing errors. He may not get another dodgy back-pass like that but he will definitely create chances either for himself, or his teammates with the way he played last night so I think it's unfair to discredit him.
He won't get gift wrapped opportunities like yesterdays game in game out.
Whether he does or not, if he scores and has a poor overall performance, then their fans will be over the moon.
Wouldn't exactly say it was gift wrapped. Still had a fair bit to do. As others have said, not sure Falcao and RVP would have scored that. Rooney, due to his lack of acceleration over 5-10 yards, would have struggled to get there before De Gea.

Overall, yes I would certainly rather him than the RvP and Falcao that we have witnessed this season. We could do with his energy, pace and work-rate up top. However, long term, I would hope for better and I'm not fussed that we sold him, I'm just pissed that Falcao is a shadow of his former self.
The whole barometer that measures Welbeck to RvP and Falcao is null and void at this stage. The latter two have generally been absolutely woeful. That particular barometer then paints Welbeck in a much better light than is the actual reality. I honestly feel that Welbeck hasn't pulled up any trees for Arsenal as of yet and I envisage him being a squad player, long term.

I do think the fact that we would rather have Welbeck in the side than Van Persie or Falcao is more indicative of the latter two than Danny. In reality I'd much just stick with Rooney on his own preferably with either Herrera or Mata behind him.

If Rooney left to one of those teams because the manager didn't rate him and was not really in his plans, and so Rooney left to get regular football, I very much doubt it.

Right, because RVP and Falcao have been brilliant in most of their games this season. Have added a ton of movement too our forward line, scored a shit load of goals, won us games, and we don't have a striker problem....

Was thinking after the Etihad game but I just remembered he didn't celebrate. Think a few Chelsea fans are a bit off by him but that's due to the lack of truthfulness behind his City move.
I clearly haven't... the point, if you take a moment and actually have a think - is that a poor Welbeck was still more effective then RVP and Falcao have been this season.
It was more a slight at them then actual praise of Welbeck... heaven forbid someone actually praise Danny of course.
Was a typical Welbeck performance last night. Caused Carrick and Blind loads of trouble in the centre of the park because they're probably not used to a centre forward tracking them so much and there's no forward better at that than Welbeck. And then that relentless energy, chasing and hassling was what got him his goal.

He was himself yesterday. But he got a great assist from United players to score yesterday to take away from his clear lack of natural goalscoring ability. Big unit, great runner, but from Arsenal created chances he looked pretty useless.
He was very poor - but he at least offered something with his pace & running - which isn't much, but yeah... it's something. Also he was constantly reducing the time our CB's and Blind had on the ball, which meant none of them were as assured on the ball as they normally are (or in Smalling terms, completely useless).
