Danny Welbeck 2015/16

God.. it has been such a peaceful six months or so now..

Given how good lvg is at reducing creative flair in a player to a bare minimum. On the contrary, maybe Danny could have key playmaker under him.

Thought he should have put our makeshift defence under far more pressure.

Probably. It wasn't a Rashford-esque performance:drool: but I thought he showed some decent involvement. Certainly offered more than Sanchez or Walcott.

He was probably Arsenal's best attacking outlet. That's not saying much as Walcott was utterly anonymous and Sanchez struggled.

Could maybe give a shout out to Ozil for an assist and goal, with some lovely little passes occasionally, but yeah, certainly better than some other Arsenal attackers.

I forgot about Ozil :wenger: Yeah Ozil was better but Welbeck was the best out of him, Walcott and Sanchez.

Not sure why he was booed. I don't feel anything towards him whatsoever but I don't get the boos.

Along with Ozil Arsenal's best player. Still, both of arsenal's goals were gifts from us and for the most part didn't really trouble our make shift defense.

Because he celebrated a bit over the top last year when he scored in the FA Cup probably. I didn't like to see that from him. But he showed respect today and applauded the fans when being subbed so fair play.

Not really. Welbeck wanted out and that was it. Don't blame Van Gaal for selling a player who wanted to leave.

That's not true. I'm a bit of an ITK with this situation. Welbeck was pushed out and then chose Arsenal after we transfer listed him. Ed Woodward apparently told Welbeck he was 5th chose behind Wilson (and Rooney, RVP, Falcao) and he wasn't wanted at the club.

Felt he was arguably Arsenal most threatening player today. People still need to realise he's just come back after 10 months. Neither Sanchez, Ozil, Giroud or Walcott looked threatening.

I was sad to see him go initially, but he's history now.

What's wrong with booing him? He got his good reception when he knocked us out of the FA Cup and celebrated it. Do we have to pander to him every time he comes back? Bollocks to that. He could have stayed, but he wanted to leave, and he went to a rival. And today he scored against us, generally played well with his usual physical battles, and he injured Rojo.

Yeah, let's sing his name and have a statue erected for Lord Welbeck.

I'd need to see that again, but I'm not sure if he should have been off for that tackle. Reminded me of the tackle Joe Cole got sent off on his Liverpool debut for.

He shouldn't have been off for it. It was an honest challenge for the ball and both got a piece of it. It still resulted in an injury for Rojo, as well as a goal against us. Booing seems fine to me.
