Didn't Welbeck just sign a new contract with us recently along with Cleverley?

Any word on the injury?

Maybe just strained a ligament or somethingIn the post match interview Fergie said it was a twisted knee and he should be OK but we'll possibly find out more tomorrow when they all return to training.
Gotta' be honest. He's one of my favourite players at United. Bags of skill, technically very good and has got goals him. Proper United striker.
I still think 4-3-3 is what we should play against them.
But hopefully he'll be ready to be on the bench.
Of course we did well enough against them with a 4231 [or 442 if you prefer], but I'd like to see us play some more 433 with Welbeck on the left and Nani on the right of Rooney.
Drop one of the most in form players in Valencia?
Rather ask Rooney to drop deeper and help out the midfield.
I saw him out last night, so it cant be that bad. As for Smalling and gay, saw him with a bird, so all calm.
Welbeck is one of my favourite players already, so much skills and class already, plus an immense work rate
Darren Bent and Danny Welbeck
Better from Bent with his goal against Everton only his third in four months but it's the increasingly assured United youngster who would be leading England's attack if the Euro Championship was to begin tomorrow
How different Welbeck's season would surely have been if, back in August, his pending substitution against Tottenham had taken place before rather than long after his ice-breaking goal. At that point - and not just during his anonymity in the first hour against Spurs - he appeared out of his depth. Not now. Having come a long way in a short period time, he's keeping out Javier Hernandez and Dimi Berbatov on merit and looks a bona fide Manchester United player. And when you're good enough for Manchester United, you're definitely good enough for the step down to international level.
Works his socks off too. Makes a lot of tackles.

Whilst you're right, and I fully agree... how very typically "English" is this quote?!
Yeah but watch Barcelona, their front players contribute a massive amount by hassling the oppo defence and midfield.

Oh indeed, it's a fantastic trait that he has... Just the quote by itself made me chuckle because it's just very English isn't it? The I like said striker 'cos he gets stuck in...
Obviously I imagine Pogue likes him firstly for his technique/finishing/pace etc. ... but as a stand-alone quote, I found it humerous.
The problem is that it's only effective when the whole team does it. If it's just the one striker, it's only a waste of energy. In Barcelona, this hassling of the defenders is an essential part of their system.Yeah but watch Barcelona, their front players contribute a massive amount by hassling the oppo defence and midfield.
Pogue is actually Peter Reid. He does a damn good impression on here of supporting United, knowing about the NHS, and stringing sequences of words together in coherent sentences, but occasionally he slips up.
The Rooney case has really set a dangerous precedent if the state of affairs is indeed as it seems.
