Yikes!Like Tottenham's trophy pursuit.
Like Tottenham's trophy pursuit.
He's been at Utd 3 years and one ruined by a horrible injury. Not that he hasn't been a disappointment but there's no need for the gross exaggeration.
Rose yea unlikely at this point. But Aurier you guys are completely off lol.
Paris United are as credible of a source there is when it comes to PSG transfers. They've made it clear Aurier and United have come to an agreement (at only £25M...the best value we'll ever see tbh) but the move is dependant on Aurier's case. If it gets cleared, you can begin writing this move in stone. Aurier himself follows Paris United.
...the only thing preventing Aurier joining United is his case. Not for that, he'd be on the squad as we speak. "Shame it won't happen", no not at all. He's a cleared case away from being ours.
Wouldn't mind having him (and Aurier). That would transform United into a more active, more energetic build-up (unless they got Mourinho-ed). During the pre-season, the build-ups were pretty slow at times, even though United have the personnel. I just hope it is due to United being a relatively new team. Even MSN of Barca got into a slow start, once upon a time ago now.
“I will say this too — I will play up north. I don’t know exactly when, but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere.
“I moved away from home (from Leeds to Spurs) at 16.
“Yes I’ve got team-mates who have moved away from families in South Korea and Argentina, but I have been away for over ten years now and I don’t get to see my mum that often.
“I am going to make it my priority before I retire to play football up there.
“My short-term focus is to get back to playing like last year and if I do that the long-term will take care of itself.
Walker was sold because Spurs were OK with selling him - we got £50m and have Trippier.
Whether Alderweireld is stalling - or whether instead an agreement has not yet been reached but will be - remains to be seen. In any event his current contract, with an optional extension at the club's discretion, still has 3 years to run, but which time he'll be 31.
Rose signed a new 5 year contract less than 12 months ago. He won't be sold this summer.
So yes, all in all I'd say it's pretty much water off a duck's back. The media - and some fans - get excited about these sorts things, but in the end it will have zero actual effect.
@GlastonSpur remember that time I told you that Spurs players will look at Lingard's £100k and start getting itchy feet and you were like "nah mate, they love the club and don't want money and love poch and believe in building something together and money isn't an issue COYS". Yeah good times, man.
You sound pretty confident he'll get cleared in the trial, I don't think he will, which is where my negativity spouts from.
What about the likes of Valencia, Larsson or Van Perise? they all came back from bad injury problems and went on to become far better players. But everything you have mentioned was achieved before he broke his leg, this is now two years ago and we are still sat here saying 'well when he's fit he will reach his heights'. I've heard it all before with Jones, Wilshere, The Ox, Sturridge. Fact is they are never fit.
The lady doth protest too much.
Your starting LB in the press criticising the club and angling for an exit is not a good look. Especially so soon after selling your starting RB.
You might hold onto him against his will. But it hardly paints a picture of a happy camp where players are going to be content to remain being underpaid and feeling like they're being held back from a successful career.
That means nothing though. Mbappe is probably superior to Ronaldo at 18, yet I'd be extremely surprised to see him become half the player. This isn't a year or two for Shaw. He's been here nearly half a decade and has regressed, if anything. Like I said, I hope he turns it around, but I don't see it. Regardless, this season is probably his last chance.\
We need to stop feeling sorry for these players and start expecting them to perform. We are a global franchise that needs to be competing at the top end, not a babysitting service.
There's no indication we're interested in him? Also, he says he's in awe of a PL rivals signings? I'd suggest it's City, as they still need one more LB. rose fits the bill.

Is a decade 6 years now?
But all those players you mention had already achieved something before they got injured. Shaw hasn't, he was a promising young player.
Look I like Shaw and was over the moon when we bought him. The injury he got was awful and I hoped he would come back. Valencia took a good few years to get over his. I'm not sure Shaw will.
Already said I made a mistake, forgot he came after Moyes, not during.
Like Tottenham's trophy pursuit.
Forgot he was a Leeds product, makes sense now.
He did. His drop in form came later when he got the 7 shirtIIRC Valencia came back and was instantly incredible.
IIRC Valencia came back and was instantly incredible.
He was in the PL team of the year and regarded as one of the best full backs in the league when we signed him. How is that not achieving anything. But all those players you mention had already achieved something before they got injured. Shaw hasn't, he was a promising young player.

I do love your optimism. Your first RB has been sold, granted for £50m but as has already been shown this season that's about the market rate.
Both Alderwield and Rose have used the media to make their thoughts known. Longevity of contracts mean absolutely nothing these days. Neymar signed a 5 years contract just 6 months ago, Van Dirk is in a similar situation with Southampton. If a player is being quoted about a club's ambition surely that's a worry.
They do to Levy. I can't speak for other clubs.
Yes it is? He came back from his leg break and looked like he never left. Absolutely destroyed Liverpool just after regaining fitness. His drop in form was later.Sorry but isn't true.

Typical Sun making it sound like he's pushing for a transfer when quotes say otherwise.
It's a kick in the teeth for Pochettino who took him from average at best to one of the best in the position
I think Barcelona's board thought the same...
The usual retort, which ignores the point made, as it usually does .... yawn.
No-one forced Rose to sign a new, 5 year contract less than 12 months ago. If he wants to go now - and actually he doesn't say that he does - then he should have thought about that before putting pen to paper. He can't have it every which way ...and with Levy he won't.
