What he did in Euro 2012 was tackle people and be purely defensive? I thought he acted as a secondary playmaker from an extremely deep position and showed a fantastic range of passing.
That's true, although some seem to have this bizarre notion that he's this one dimensional player similar to Barton; someone who isn't even a defensive mid.
His passing was outstanding at the Euros, it was actually noticeably good which is something I've not seen from De Rossi before.

Barton as good as De Rossi? That's on another level of spasticicity. How Barton has came to being rated so highly when he's distinctly average is nothing short of fecking amazing, really.

He, like Totti, is Roma through thick and thin and I don't see him wanting to leave. I'm sure over the years he's had numerous chances to go to bigger clubs and he's always stated his desire to stay at Roma regardless of how the club was doing. Unless he's forced out (like Newcastle with Carroll) and convinced by management that his leaving Roma would benefit the club, I don't see why he'd all of a sudden actually want to leave.
Even if he does leave, I think we won't see the same De Rossi for City. We've seen some good players who don't seem to get over the fact that they left the club they love and as a result their performance level drops.

Where have you got this information from? Though, if you were De Rossi and you were going to leave the club of your life, you would only leave for a United, Barca or Real, if you had any soul anyway.
