Daniel Sturridge

He has worse decision making than Nani, and is almost selfish as Robben.

What do you expect from someone who celebrates the glory of himself being subbed on to the pitch.

He needs to move to a different club. Will never make it if he stays at Chelsea.

The celebration yesterday was more to do with it having won the game for his side i think rather than the brilliance of the goal.

Its amazing how both him and Welbeck were talked of in the same light couple of years back and now there's a distinct gulf in their levels.

Not according to this guy...

What we recall from this game was not the broiling fury of injustice, not the tit-for-tat of who said what to whom, but Javier Hernández’s jet-heeled finishing, Juan Mata’s sublime control and everything Sturridge did.

For once his flicks found their target, for once his feints confused opponents rather than team-mates. Oozing confidence, growing in belief as the night progressed, he administered such trauma on United’s young centre-back pairing of Wootton and Michael Keane that he will be haunting their nightmares for months.

Complete shite recently.

He was amazing at Bolton I thought. Recently though, everything he touches turns to shit.

Struggle to think of a greedier player. Constantly ruining attacks by trying to get steal the headlines

Apart from that run at Bolton he hasnt really done anything of note, I wont be surprised when Chelsea sell him to Wigan or someone along those lines when they inevitably get Falcao

To be honest he was great at the start of last year. The focal point and the outlet the team utilized he could afford to be greedy. Then Torres had to be accommodated.

Greedy player just add a dash of Juan Mata. Garnish with a little Oscar, Ramires and Eden Hazard. Serve on a warm dish that never comes within 35 yards of goal Obi Mikel.

Apart from Mata and Torres in that line up who often appear unmarked for a tap in to never receive it. They are massive greedy players all aspiring for personal glory on the pitch and not playing for Chelsea as a club at all..

I don't rate him too highly, yet i think Rodgers could get the best out of him. Look at Sinclair and Dyer when they were both at Swansea. Neither are players you'd call top class but both did very well when utilised correctly.

The big problem with him seems to be that once he starts playing well his head swells to twice the size of the earth and he stops doing stuff like tracking back and occasionally passing the ball. In his time at Bolton and his early days back at Chelsea he was more of a team player than he showed in the last year or so at Chelsea.

Rather he's overrated or not, he's still a better option than Carroll and Borini. That's for sure.

I think this will be a very, very good signing for Liverpool. He's a good player with goals in him but he needs to be handled and played correctly. I reckon Suarez will become the deeper of a front two for them with Sturridge as the out and of striker bringing the best out of both Suarez and Sturridge

Sturridge can be a good player if used correctly - his left foot certainly isn't bad!

If Liverpool played a front two of him and Suarez I think it'd work out although both can be quite selfish at times. They also have the ability to set up chances for team mates.

I've got mixed feelings about him leaving. He's a very talented player but incredibly frustrating.

We'll surely either buy or bring Lukakakaku back in January.

Agent Rafa sorting out Pool's lack of a striker before yours. I would be worried.

He won't be calling his new team-mate 'negrito', that's for sure.

It's the sort of signing that will stabilise them a little - and make it less likely that they will suddenly slip even further down the table - but also diminishes the chances of them regaining their old standing any time soon.

Symptomatic of a once-top club settling more permanently into their new mid-table identity.

That is a classic Liverpool signing. He will be dogshit for them and probably cost them about £18m.

Personally I think Sturridge is a good signing for them. He's not had a proper opportunity at Chelsea. Its hard to judge a player when they're playing sporadically because it denies them the opportunity to properly find their feet. Last time he was played regularly was all the way back when he was at Bolton and I thought he acquitted himself quite well there. His development has been stunted because of his lack of playing time. Given the opportunity to play more for Liverpool I can see him becoming a good tidy player. And most importantly someone who can regularly score goals and take the pressure off Suarez.

He's exactly the type of player Brendan Rodgers would want. He can play in any position in an attacking three and gives them a genuine alternative to Suarez which they have not had all season. Rodgers is unlikely to play them as a pair, it's not his style.

I'd expect Liverpool to be quiet busy in January and think they will land a couple more attacking players which they sorely need.

Sturridge always looked a big talent when he was in City's youth set up and playing week in week out will do him no harm.

Last time he was played properly was against us in the Chanel no.5 cup where he had an utter mare, performance wise. Was gifted a goal and spazzed out like he'd owned the entire game with that ridiculous celebration.

Really, people are saying this a good deal for Liverpool? He really need to start developing then because I cannot see what he has that will benefit Liverpool.

When he came on in that game, he started rolling his foot across the top of the ball as if he was Zidane or someone with genuine talent. Bloody egomaniac.

Any other manager and I would be crying in my cereal. But Rodgers got Downing to score, assist and get MOTM in one game today. If he can do half of that with Sturridge then he's just what we need. A midfield and front of:

Lucas Henderson/Allen
Sterling/Ince Gerrard Suarez
Sturridge

Not league winning material but certainly better than seeing a useless Shelvey on the teamsheet repeatedly. And Downing for that matter, despite him having a good game as mentioned.

Was he playing as a CF for Chelski or a CB for us? Won the ball back for us more than Wootton, and created half as many attacks on our goal.

He's basically a really shit Danny Welbeck but thinks he's Henry.

It's an improvement alright. Sturridge will come with a certain frustration but he'll at least get you some goals which is what Liverpool normally are missing from anything not called Suarez.

Choosing between Henderson and Allen is like choosing between shit and vomit.

:nono:

Don't forget Downing.
