Yeah, a first choice LB is indeed needed, but Evra can play another season if we get someone who can allow us to rest Evra without fear of impending doom specially as we have no European distractions.
...is his wooden twin.To be fair to him, he looks like a very intelligent player. Janmaat on the other hand....
Yup. In a first half especially. They all have difficult 1st half for some reason on this tournament.Only bad thing about him (at least today) is that his first touch lets him down too often. Anyone else notice that?
Not that impressed today to be quite honest.
He might not be world class but he is a player who can get better with time. Similar to Fletcher in that regard. I don't see any harm in signing him for a reasonable fee.
Buttner, Nani, Cleverley, Anderson, Bebe are all under 30. Lets see how they improve in the next few years. You can say that about any player under 30.

Even if we get Shaw, I'd still like us to get him. Typical utility man.
Me too. We can easily get by on a midfield of Herera + Blind/Carrick until Jan and then we should have look at Strootman. Evra will be gone in 12 months so Blind will also get more gametime as a LB in future years and Carrick will likely be gone next Summer too.
Most of you are basing this on four games, not his club form ffs.
His calling card would be his versatility. With Shaw now in place we already have 2 LBs so he would not be used there. So he would be purely a signing for the midfield. And I do not think he is good enough at that position to make much of an impact there.
Wasn't this guy a CM? Did Van Gaal turn him to a LB?
Would be a very useful squad player for us, or any teamI thought he was one of the best 3 Dutch players on the pitch today along with Robben and Kuyt.
Very efficient in recycling possession for Holland when switched to holding midfield. Very different player to De Jong. Didn't make as many fierce challenges as De Jong but retained possession much more impressively than De Jong and was spot on positionally throughout the second half when Holland switched to 4.3.3
I thought he looked quite uncomfortable in the centre, some of his passing was terrible. From what we've seen at the WC, he looks far more comfortable at the back.
