Cuadrado

Of course anyone would choose Di Maria over him but Di Maria was man of the match in the Champions League final, does anyone think that it's realistic that he'll drop to a team out of the competition altogether?

I'm not upset if we get Cuadrado but there has been a theme throughout the Summer of us struggling to attract players with pedigree in the Champions League.

The summer isn't over yet.

I very much doubt Barca will spend so much on him, a winger. They have already spent a lot this summer and don't exactly need a winger.

If we lose him to Barcelona I'll be angry.

We have no idea if United are even in for him. The Spanish press seem to be fixated on the idea that Manchester United are involved in high profile duels with other clubs for every player on the market.

According to Barca sources, Cuadrado has a principle agreement with barca.Looks like Utd lose out to another target.

Woodward's going to look like a right knob after his comments about players going to Spain

I don't believe Barca will outbid us. Do they still have money to spend after buying Suarez, Bravo, Vermaelen and that defender from Valencia? They have only sold Farbragas, don't they?

Sold Sanchez too. They have plenty money.

We had a principle deal with Lucas, money changes everything.
Woodie v2014 will blow Barca out the water financially.

But in theory they are banned from the next two transfer windows so I expect they will spend big this summer

Sanchez another big-money sale.

They have £60 million from Fabregas and Sanchez, so in truth they are only about £30 mil in red.

Alexis too.

I'm not that fussed about him really. I have a lot of faith in Rafael and I don't particularly want to see him get replaced.

If Van Gaal wants Cuadrado then so be it but I wouldn't be upset if he chose not to come here.

They bought Ter Stegen, too.

Right, I forgot about Sanchez. In that case, feck it if the player doesn't want to play for us

Thats the only reason Cuadrado wouldn't be a MUFC player come next season.
If he is interested, we'll bid big enough to get him.

I beg to differ, I believe that if we really wanted Cesc and/or Kroos they would have been ours, money talks .. thats how PSG got Ibra/Cavani and Monaco got James/Falcao.

i agree. its all money. you pay me 200k a week and id play in the gaza strip. It has nothing to do with CL and the merits of playing in it. Offer enough and they will turn their heads

Really? £75m on Suarez, £15m on Vermaelen, £16m on Mathieu, £10m on Bravo and on Ter Stegen.

They surely won't be able to pay big for him. I'm confident he's ours if we want him.

Much more than that. Spent 162m euros, received around 80. Thus already spent net 82m Euros.

Feck it, let him go to Barca if he wants to go there. No one wanted him here before we were being strongly linked to him. He's not the be all and end all and he's certainly not worth £35m so Barca can have him. Not at all fussed if we lose out to him.

£80 million plus whatever it cost them to bribe FIFA to allow them to even buy these players.

It would be even more silly if they sold Alexis and actually bring Cuadrado in to play in his position who is a much inferior player imo

Barca are not planning to shift to 3-4-1-2 are they? Cuadrado is not exactly a RB.

I don't think they care too much about their full backs being able to defend. Dani Alves spent 90% of his Barca career in the attacking third. Neymar, Messi & Suarez will play pretty narrow & they'll rely on Alba & Cuadrado/Alves to provide width.

Alba & Alves both only played two seasons at full back before Barca bought them. Cuadrado has played wing back a bit so they'll think that's enough.

Would welcome this signing but wouldn't care much if we miss out.

Oh yeah forgot Matthieu, what an odd signing that was. And I've also forgotten £15 million Rakitic so they are around £80 million in the red.

Ey, they ain't half spent a shed load for a club supposedly banned from transfers.

Hmmmm, maybe but still can't see them spending 40m on him. They have Montoya as backup and had they needed a RB so desperately, they could have gone for/will go for someone in range of 15-20m at max.

This guy is quoting the Spanish Media and if true, that is a ridiculous fee for Cuadrado.

So we could have got sanchez and we'll prob end up spending more on someone who at 26 had to be explained who he was until very recently. Jesus are his stats in Italy better than Ashley Young at Villa.

I just remembered that Barca are actually on a suspended transfer ban aren't they?

Can sanchez play RWB?

He is a specialist Wing back, Sanchez is not.
