I think he sees our club differently know in that we can actually spend money that others can't. He knows we can compete with Real Madrid. I don't know why, but that satisfies me. I think is because it shows him that Real Madrid is not bigger than Man ud.

I don't particularly care for the big club discussion as its boring but I seriously hope you don't just judge the size of a club or how important it is by the money it spends.

Madrid fall short of glory this season in the league and Europe whats the stop us bidding? Ronaldo will be 30 before the season ends and is showing no sign of slowing down on his goal return.

Whats a 30 year old Ronaldo worth, €60-70 million? I'd happily see him return, he'd boost out goal outcome by 30-40 goals a season from a position we've lacked goals in since he's left. He easily has 5 seasons left in him, the freak.

433 with a front 3 of Ronaldo-Falcao-Di Maria
He would be worth it for his face alone. The shirt sales and having his face at our club again would pay off. I wouldn't care if he was 30, it'd be brilliant for the club.

Not going to happen though.

If we continue to spend like we're able to, get in more world class players and start winning again then why not?

He'll be 30 next year... guess it would depend on the fee, but I don't really see us going in for him, especially now we have Di Maria.

It's all about number of Facebook fans Raul ;)
Surely twitter and re-tweets is more important. Also the amount of revenue and income a team makes. Tbh I barely even watch football these days. I just wait for the figures to come out to show how much revenue and money Madrid makes through sponsors, tv deals and shirt sales etc. I couldn't be more happy and proud of how my team did in regards to that this year. Its so exciting. I don't care much about winning the CL or league but if it means that Madrid will generate more revenue and get greater sponsor deals then so be it I hope they win them. But if winning them doesn't result in an increase in revenue or get better sponsor deals then it is pointless and they may as well quit those competitions in order to find other ways to increase their revenue and get those big sponsor deals, as well as the facebook likes and re-tweets of course.

Completely forgot about twitter but instagrams proved a bit more reliable, so that's something we need to factor in.

Next year if we get CL and Real don't win anything also depending on how Rodriguez and Bale cope, bearing in mind he'll be 30, there's no reason a deal can't be done. I don't believe he'll come back for a second though.

Genuinely think Man Utd and Fergie and the United players, staff, fans etc are the only ones he truly loves in football.

They're the club I believe are really in his heart.

You mean Cristiano 'I am a slave at Man Utd' Ronaldo?

I could genuinely see a return next summer if madrid fail to win the league or champions league but it would mean 1 of rooney or rvp being sold and we would still have to pay 70-80m with him pushing the move. they ditched their 2 most important players other than him and wont give playing time to varane. must be very frustrating having the club president continuously pull the carpet from under your feet.

Ronaldo, strootman, cb, ditch the remaining deadwood and our squad would be phenomenal.

Oh stop, you big tease

He's the reason I fell in love with United and he's still benefiting the club by essentially recruiting Di Maria. Hopefully he returns one day but I think it will be as an ambassador when he retires.

Next year they will try to cash in Ronaldo, the president wants Mendes influence to the minimum and selling ronaldo and buying some other new star would be the proper way of Real.

He is not coming back.

Anyway, I like him, but I am nowhere close to being one of those fanbois who think he has never done anything wrong, loves us so much and would die for us.

And until this season I have never really missed him, he moved on, as did we.

But seeing us being absolutely dreadful this season and witnessing Rooney and RvP being not even close to scoring or creating anything decent when it has mattered, I can't ignore that even a half fit Ronaldo would have won us those games. You know scoring out of nowhere or scoring when the team plays badly!

I have a feeling this could actually happen sometime down the line. Zidane was the only galactico that retired at the club and he and perez got on very well and he was perez' favourite player. Perez loved how zidane behaved and what he brought to the club both on and off the pitch. Zidane was the Galactico of the galacticos. I don't think perez views Ronaldo so highly or likes him as much as he did zidane.

Calling it, reus will go to Madrid for the 35m euro release clause and take the no.7 shirt and they will sell Ronaldo to us for 70-75m pounds freeing up money to buy pogba for 60m. Over to you.

I reckon Madrid fans would take he loss of Ronaldo for reus and pogba. And before we suggest taking reus and pogba ourselves, that would be far too sensible.

There was rumours today that Reus to Madrid is agreed in principle, 99% sure it isn't true but I'm very sure they'll be in for him next summer and he isn't coming to sit on the bench so it'll be either Bale or Ronaldo who will be pushed a side for him and considering Bale's age and potential there is only one loser. Having said that if either Ronaldo or Bale became available and by available I mean if they sign Reus then we should go all out to purchase them. The thing about having world class players is they don't want to sit on the bench and rightly so.

Of course this is all just theory but I do like the idea mentioned about about going for Reus and Pogba .

Don't people think with the physique of this player and the work he has put in over the years that even at like age 34 he will still be sensational?

He is probably fed up with all the internal politics at Madrid.

Wasnt he a part of the group that Casillas, Ramos and now Perez dont like.

I'll bet he does. I reckon the wages we're (allegedly) paying Falcao and Di Maria have piqued the interest of more players than just Ronaldo.

Not if he doesn't get over his current injury problems.

Just one year ago I couldn't honestly believe in the very idea of bringing him back. After today's and after proving how easily Woodward can make a grand business with guys like Mendes I say it's almost 100% possible of financially convincing Madrid to let it happen.
A successful season this year, back in the CL, and we blow our budget on him next summer.

Utter rubbish. He's Real Madrid through and through, United is the team he became sensational at but he only have us about 3 years where he was off the scale sensational. He always knew that as soon as he achieved everything here he would go onto Real Madrid, not interested in becoming a total legend here...Real Madrid was the team he always wanted.

feck, I thought he had asked Florentino not to sell Di Maria... Damn you, Cristiano!!

:smirk:

He obviously didn't want Di Maria to leave, but I think he means that when Di Maria was leaving anyway - then Cristiano recommended United.

I wouldn't mind that at all!
