I still love the lad but only Ronaldo can use a special message to Ferguson, for an award Ferguson is receiving, as an opportunity to let everyone know Fergie is special because he recognised how special he is

 Almost everyone is admitting that Suarez is the best player in the league right now. It is actually you, who always pops to disregard every other Ronaldo (or Bale nowdays) goal due to poor defending or some other excuse.

No it's really not. If Ronaldo converts a penalty and maybe a straight forward tap in it's a wankathon, when Suarez scores a couple of technically good goals it's all terrible defending. I think I mocked defensive play when Bale scored a hat-trick but that was awful and I thought I'd say it because I knew no-one else would ;) Some of your are more like Justin Bieber fans with this stuff

Should I bump the Zlatan thread so we can admire these?

Oh, and I thought Ronaldo's brief appearence on SPOTY was quite cool, Fergie looked chuffed anyway.

Ronaldo's English still cracks me up every time. "You're gonna deserve to put this shirt in your body." :lol:Good lad.

Do you think you could photoshop Zlatan onto a basketball court? The height of the ring is 3 metres, and he is 70 centimetres above that.

What do you expect? He's the best player in the world and he was produced by our club.

One of the journos who works at France Football met and described Ronaldo as a "golden guy". A lot of medias have interpreted it as Ronaldo being the next Ballon d'Or. The journalist denied leaking anything but that was expected from him.

Imagine we had him. Just imagine. One player, just one, in a position we are already well-stacked enough in, and he could come in - probably in January - and singlehandedly win us the league. What is more is that I reckon he would do it at a trot. Class act too. I can't believe how amazingly ripped off we got, even at £80 million. He posted this today :

Name any collective group of players that could come in nowadays for 80 million and have the impact he would? You're looking at Fellaini, Baines and Herrera (if you're lucky) for that price. Would they have the impact Ronaldo would? Would they feck.

He would struggle in this team. We don't create chances and we don't counterattack well.

£80m was 6 years ago though. No way you can say we got ripped off, it was over 50% more than the transfer record at the time.

Still, if there's one thing I could change in the last couple of decades of football, it's that he'd stayed. We would be winning everything.

He'd still score goals out of nothing. He's a monster.

No he wouldn't. That is not the kind of player he is. His goals are all about movement and great finishing. We don't create enough chances for him, he thrives in that space behind defences when teams counterattack and we don't counterattack well.

Then you need to get some specs. The 06-09 team was lightyears ahead of the current team.

Easy to say that, especially given the current shambles Moyes has managed to organise, but look at it player by player and there aren't huge differences. A couple of truly great strikers, a dodgy midfield... if anything it was probably only our defence that was clearly better back then.

He would get on the end of some of the insane amounts of crosses we send in. I'm assuming he'd play starting from the left, the way he does for Madrid so that Valencia could retain his richly deserved place in the team.

Come on, Van Persie scored 30 goals for us last season, and Ronaldo is better than him in almost everything.

Yeah. If he could just run at defenders he'd be a half decent player.

Don't see a massive difference between this team and the 06-09 team with Ronnie taken out of it. And he didn't do bad in that team.

Well, apart from the team having a world class defence, amazing attacking talent to call on, players in their peak everywhere, a hat-trick of league titles in a row, our dominant success in Europe reaching consecutive CL finals and the style of attacking football we played, I would agree with you.

Actually, no I wouldn't.

The best back five on the planet, Giggs and Scholes rediscovering their peak forms, and Rooney/Tevez as part of the devastating trio. Massive difference.

I'll give you the defence, but that doesn't have a big impact on whether Ronaldo would score goals.

Giggs and, moreover, Scholes were already limited in their appearances by then - enough that we were already talking about the need for midfielders. You could equally say that Carrick's been at his best in the last couple of years, and we now have Januzaj. And I'm not at all sure that Rooney / Tevez trumps Rooney / RVP (with Welbeck and Hernandez).

It's night and day comparing 06-09 to the current squad.

And if you want to lump Hernandez/Welbeck into the mix as backup forwards, then you're overlooking the contributions and class Saha and Berbatov had. Even Macheda delivered in the title winning 08-09 side in his limited appearances.

Do you know what else we had, genius? Cristiano Ronaldo.

Without him, we've come within 90 seconds of winning three league titles in a row.... are you convince the 07-09 team would have?

Him and Rooney dropping to get the ball forward, and RVP to put in in if the two doesn't score from the 25m range... We should do a RedCafe-video for him to get him tear up and wanna come back.

I'm not sure that's a true representation of things. Giggs started 98 games over those 3 seasons and Scholes started 94. Over 30 starts a season on average can't really be described as limited appearances, IMO. Giggs of course won the PFA player of the year in 08/09 and overall he played over 2400 minutes which adds up to around 27 full games. And the defence surely played a part in giving them a sense of freedom and security in allowing our midfield to concentrate on influencing the play in attacking areas. I'm pretty sure Giggs said exactly that during the 06/07 season. In fact here it is:
"Manchester United is all about attacking football really, but I think defensively we have been really good this year," Giggs told Sky Sports News.
"That has given the attacking players a platform to go out and create the chances and score lots of goals and play attacking football.

Of course the idea that he'd be anything other than sensational for us is a bit ridiculous really.

Both Giggs and Scholes had a rejuvenation during the 06/07 season, also evidenced by them being included in the top 6 contenders for PFA player of the year award. No one saw it coming but that season a lot of things came together at the right time.

If there's one player who can score goals for any team, that one must be Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is nothing short of an amazing footballer and an amazing athlete. He might go down as Madrid's best ever if he continues to improve. He surpassed Sanchez already and I wound't be surprised if he left Puskas behind him aswell this season. The man is just a phenomenon.

I think you lot should give us another 50m. Bargin.
