Ronaldo recently launched a site called Viva Ronaldo, in association with Nike? It's on!

£65m

So Real get 4 seasons worth of stunning football for net £15m. Yeah, I believe that one...

Real would be lucky to get 65m in my honest opinion. He's only got two years left and he has so far shown no intent to renew the contract. If he stays for the next season, then his value fall dramatically because he'll have only year on contract left.

Obviously that all changes if he signs the new contract.

Daily Star's backpage tomorrow...

Come on KM, you should know better than to post news from rags like The Sun, The Daily Mirror and The Daily Star. They are as laughable as Daily Sport...

Assuming that's planted from Ronaldo's side rather than just made-up by the hacks, then Madrid must really be playing hard-ball over the money in his new contract if Ronaldo's side are putting things like that out there.

To be honest, I stopped believing everything the daily rags were spouting the day I stopped believing in God, the tooth fairy and father christmas.

Players leak the stuff to newspapers all the time. Although the article is nothing new or important, obviously Ronaldo would love to come back considering he's history here. The main sticking point is our ability to finance the deal and whether Madrid will want to sell him. Unfortunately the answer to both is no.

See, I just don't know if that's true. He seems to me like more of the forward-thinking type, looking for new challenges.

You know, he had it all with us. In 2009 he threw everything away to live his dream and become a star. You think he wants another challenge or would he want to rejoin the club which made him the biggest star in football?

Ronaldo, Bale and Gundogan.. it's on ( 2 or 3 players of value)

Daily Star is quite clearly the worst. But it's still speculation. What's the harm ?

Madrid can afford to play hard ball. They know Ronaldo's a professional and he'll keep giving them 100% even if he isn't happy with his contract.

I think he wants another challenge. It's in his nature.

Question is, what other challenge is there? Other than staying at Madrid or coming back to us, the only other destination I see for him is back at Sporting. That's not a challenge though.

Mufc on his shirt
rooneys bald head gleaming
three years of bebe
never stopped me dreaming
hes coming home hes coming home
hes coming
ronaldos coming home

I think he clearly wants to get another "ballon d'or" and Manchester United is the safest bet for this.

Win Champions League for another club, sample a different league, for example... explains why PSG have been linked to him

This doesn't get said enough. He stays with us he wins 7 league titles in a row, and probably another CL. What's he gained by fecking off other than becoming the most expensive player ever?

I guess he gets more money, he is closer to his home, his reputation has enhanced and he is certainly twice the player he was when he left us. Maybe him and his family wanted better weather? When he scored 42 goals for us in that season I was like WOW but now its like his average per season.

And if he comes back, I dont really care about who plays in central midfield. I will always have the confidence that we can score one more goal than our opponents.

Is his reputation enhanced though? Moving to play in direct competition with Messi has just left him endlessly (and unfavourably) compared to the Argie hobbit.

To be honest Real Madrid has a better reputation than us. We have been a better club than them in how its run and winning especially in the last decade when they have won feck all. But their name, their brand is certainly bigger and better than anyone else's in football today. So playing for them has certainly enhanced his reputation, absolutely!

Well put. I've been trying to say this over the last few days, but RDCR07 nailed it.

Secure Ronaldo. Outscore the opponents, who will have a difficult time getting past a very good back line and keeper, shielded by Carrick, while we groom Cleverley -- and possibly Powell -- into accomplished attacking midfielders.

Sir Alex: "Everything is in place for a big signing. I could go for a really top player now."

Cocks out!

Would hurt to see him in a Chelsea shirt hope this doesn't happen but with their spending power and Jose persuasion tactics there is a possibility.

That's fair. I just don't see him going to PSG. Arent they having a clear out? Ronaldo strikes me as a lad who wants to go forwards and not backwards. I think him going to Real was the pinnacle of his career and he's trying to make the most of it. Only challenge to coming back to OT is winning with a new team and securing a treble.

Not getting to excited yet but feck me what a signing it would be to get Ronaldo back. If things stay the way they are (he wont sign a new contract) then I can see him leaving this summer for sure, last thing Madrid want is for him to get within 12 months of his contract expiring next summer.

You think he would rather go to PSG than United? I can't see him going to France because he won't be challenging himself, he'll easily be the best player in the league.

He could go Italy but who could afford him? Would they even play the type of football that's suited to him? Fast paced counter attacks is what he does best and where better to do it than at Manchester United.

You say he wants a challenge, what greater challenge than to be the first player Fergie has ever re-signed (to my knowledge) and reclaim his crown of being the finest footballer in the world, a club where he's adored by the fans and knows it has a family feel. Our teams quite different as well so it's not as if he would be walking back into the same team, it would be a new challenge for him.

Whether it would happen or not is a different story, but I can't deny that I would love Ronaldo back.

I agree and am surprised not many see this as a possibility.

Jose and Ronaldo are very close.

Maybe spurs will do us a favour and finish 4th.

Jose and Ronaldo are not very close anymore. In recent comments Ronaldo made that quite clear.

Sorry, but he wont go back to Manchester United. Flroentino would never sell him for less than what he paid and I doubt Glazers would pay that amount of money. Also, Florentino needs to 'renew his contract' since there are presidential elections this summer.

Crazy isn't it?

199 goals in 196 games for Real Madrid. Absolutely fecking mind boggling stats.

Unbelievable.

By far the best player I have ever seen play live and would love to see him back.

 When did he say that ?

These are the quotes doing the rounds:
When asked if the money was there for a big signing, the United boss revealed: “It probably is. The Glazers have been great - every time I have asked for anything, they have delivered.

“If I was to ask about going for a certain player now, I think they would do it. There has been a wind change. I could maybe go for a top player, if that’s possible.

“It doesn’t matter where they play - if you get a top player in it improves it. We had Chicharito Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney last summer, but we still signed Robin Van Persie.

“We’ve won the league because we’ve got a good, strong squad and I think we’ll add to it.”

I wonder if he has a "certain player" in mind?

Realistically the only place he'll be next year in Madrid or at United. I honestly couldnt see him go to the likes of PSG or one of our english rivals. it leaves not many other options. Bayern maybe
