Cristiano Ronaldo | Transfer Speculation

Anyway, most rumors are saying he's interested in return, not us that are interested and that's a big difference. He's most probably using our name now to press Madrid.

Morata + Ronaldo + a half decent holding midfielder... that would see us overtake Real Madrid.

No chance. Bar De Gea we don't have a player that would get into Madrids team.

The league hasn't improved at all - performances in Europe show the English sides have regressed since he was last here.

Stick two men on him all they want. It leaves space for others to run riot, and you don't think teams attempt to do that already anyway?
I said the 'overall quality' of the league. I'm not talking about the clubs in Europe but the smaller teams who are far more competitive.

The overall quality of the league has improved since he was last here too

Yea just look at the performance of English teams in Europe. Such a massive improvement.
Ronaldo would obliterate PL if he joins us. Its mental that some folks on here are doubting his ability, he just scored against the best defences in Europe ( Juve, Atletico) I'm sure he can manage Stoke away

I also wonder why you don´t try Dembelé since it´s obvious that the club has a lot of money. If you buy Cristiano, then I´d like Mbappé + Dembele

The thought of us funding you guys getting those two through Ronaldo makes me shudder.

Dembele maybe just doesn't fancy it with us, but he'd be the player I'd like to see us go all out for, whilst everyone else wastes their time trying to get Mbappe.

Mirror guys should fix it to:
£175m + de Gea + 1000 Chevrolet Impalas + unlimited access for Real Madrid personnel to Eysturland Lodge spa in Klaksvík on Faroe Islands

If you want to top other bullshitters in the bullshit business you've got to dig more bullshit out of your laboured brains you numbskulls.

Rojo and Carrick off, Gareth Bale (as left back) and proper holding mid. Otherwise that looks beautiful on paper.
Yea it points out some glaring weaknesses that need replacements.

That's just terrible. We'd be relying on Ronaldo to singlehandedly win us games, just as we were with Zlatan.
Totally different players. Ronaldo will make way more space for the other 2 to hit at pace. And that is the magic word here, PACE, with obvious threat and quality.

If you swap Rashford with someone who can score goals then maybe.
Ah man thats way too harsh, do i need to remind you about the goals he got this season. Or are you just gonna blame him for Jose playing him on the wing?

You can't be serious.

1) The only ones losing sleep with that lineup is Jose.

2) Rojo is shit at LB. Blind would be a better option.

3) Carrick is old and will not cause anyone to lose sleep other than Jose. He won't be first choice if we sign a DM.

4) Rashford on the right just because? Why weaken our lineup just to put a certain player on the pitch. If we're starting next season with Martial and Rashford as our wingers we'll be abysmal with or without Ronaldo.
Its a 433 with tony v, pushing on and Rojo tucking in, while in possession. Martial and Rashford are not out n out wingers and I guess you are just one of these guys who does not rate Carrick. While he is getting on, there is no doubting his quility to the team. He wont go on forever and he is coming near the end but at the moment he still does a job for us. The worlds best player with support of 2 of the fastest and most promising young players in prem if not the world and a Pogba would, I say, cause havoc.

Of course it needs to gel. But if they can, its teams setting out with a defensive mentality against us.

If he genuinely does want Madrid to pay his tax bill then you'd hope the conversation was brief and along the following lines:

Madrid: Look, mate, I know what you're about to ask and just let me say this; you bought your agent a fecking island as a gift. Pay it yourself.
Ronaldo: Bu-
Madrid: An ACTUAL PISSING ISLAND, you thundering dickwit.

Please.

This is Ronaldo we're talking about, not Wayne Rooney. The man is a top professional who keeps his body and mind in perfect condition year after year.

Zlatan was our best player at 35. Ronaldo, who is built like a machine and has his mind at the right place, can play at least 3 more years at the highest level, and I won't be surprised if he goes beyond that.
Bad business is bad business. Paying over 100 mil for a 32 yr old is worse than bad. But lucky for you Ed is in charge so you may have your way.

if Ronaldo was on commission for all the clickbait article he's spawned, he'd have earned enough to cover his tax bill by now.

This. I think Madrid wouldn't believe their luck to sell him at a huge profit at that age. It's like the New York Cosmos buying Pele. Great for this year's marketing, not so great for being taken seriously.

Yeah sure, it's exactly like that.

There must be a white text somewhere in your post, where is it ?

Yes because the club has acted in poorly in finances in the past right? If there's one fecking thing I trust Woodward and the Glazers to do it would be to make decisions that make financial sense. Stop pretending it's just a normal "32 year old". It's a top 3 player (at worse) of all time.

ffs give your head a wobble

A few things....

1) saying that he feels Real Madrid have not done enough to support him... he is absolutely 100% correct. Spain needs to get their collective shit together and treat this guy with respect. He generates more revenue then anybody else there by far.
2) having just watched his movie.. I have to say the guys dedication and desire to be appreciated oozes from him. He gives and demands respect.

It's amazing how many of our fans get hung up on transfer fees.
Some on here probably own a United shirt customized with Jason from accountings printed on the back.

Getting Ronaldo back to United for 100m? It's alot of money but I think our fanbase deserves it.
It would be a huge statement, and would put us 2 steps forward in challenging for the title we are overdue.

Still, I'm very sceptical about this actually happening but boy I'd be all for it.

Will you call it bad business if he gives us the edge in our pursuit for trophies in the next 3-4 years?

100 mil is chump change. The club will recover that on his shirt sales alone.

Even if we don't make the money back, this would be a Ronaldinho for Barcelona type signing putting a club in a bad position back on the map.

"I spent a lot of years at Manchester United and it [home fans booing] never happened to me. Not even once," he told Spanish TV La Sexta ahead of their Champions League victory over Juventus.

"Maybe England is a case apart, the mentality is different. I'm very happy being in Spain but obviously I also miss England because you can't just turn off the memories."

Sorry, it's a funny post.

The state of United fans when the yearly talk of Ronaldo coming back is in session

Silly season at it's fullest. While we need to strengthen in at least 3 positions we think about this silly story about Ronaldo coming back which emerges every season. I hope Woodward will leave it when he realizes it's impossible or Ronaldo is having his yearly second thoughts or we never thought about him coming back and it was all media invention.

Ronaldo clearly playing brinkmanship between United and Madrid.

Am not saying he won't come, as Madrid may call his bluff, but I think this is his bi-annual 'prove you love me' charade with Madrid.

If Madrid does decide to discard him, we should not pay any more than £70m for him.

We need the fear factor back! Ronaldo the 7 is waiting for you.

Ronaldo would never try to leave a club immediately after they've won the Champions League.

70m wouldn't even get you Morata.

If Ronaldo is to be sold, it'll be upwards of 100m.
