Yeah but if you sold a prestige car and bought it back later for more money that might be considered ok. But if you knew that the car was guaranteed to depreciate and have little sell-on value then that would be ill-advised.
Once with Pogs, twice with Ronny.. we would be a laughing stock - especially if he flopped. It would also assure future stars that if they try their luck abroad and fail they might still be able to come back. This would very much be a short term fix and if anything, the last few years should have taught us that a long term strategy is of more long term benefit than the next high-profile fix. Look at the way Bayern do it. Focus on getting a functional team first and foremost and don't go chasing waterfalls. Once the club does that more players would want to come and play here and to make the sacrifices necessary to do it. More players would have the club as their 'dream destination'.

You just sold him to them, they took his best years and got greatest success with him (while United disappeared from the top), and just before or while he declines due to his age, they sell him back to you for double the money, even with the risk of him getting jailed. First, that's naive. Second, it's not only about money. Ronaldo's angry about the attitude of the club and the lack of sufficient support. If the club accepts responsibility for the problem, this will clear Ronaldo's image etc.

Which I don't think they will. They will see this as an opportunity to get rid of Ronaldo, whilst he can still command a world record fee, which would probably pay for Mbappe. If I was Perez, I'd take this window of opportunity.

They can win the CL for a third time in a row next season which would be absolutely sensational given the recent CL history. They can win it but it's unlikely, whether Ronaldo plays for them or not. Also, if they sell Ronaldo and buy Mbappe, they'd still have a more than capable squad which would be doing very well, imo. It's a perfect way for Real to part company with Ronaldo. Of course that's just an opinion which Sid Lowe has which I happen to believe.
