Cristiano Ronaldo | Transfer Speculation

Why do you care about something as pointless as resale value ? You should care about the fact that he will help us win trophies.

I don't care one bit. Someone remarked that 131 million pounds would be a fair price for him and allowed myself to wonder if this is actually fair. Resale value obviously comes into it from a financial standpoint so I brought it up. I don't think a world record signing has been made for a 32 year old before. I think this makes a reasonable case but the fanboys are not having it.

If it's about winning the trophy at any or all costs then why limit ourselves to 131 million? Why not 200?

I wouldn't want him hampering Martials development.

Ah yes a notable Ronaldo fan. Please show me links that support your Mbappe theory. Because i have plenty of links, articles and videos with him complaining about the treatment Madrid fans give him. Agree with your United part.
I'm not saying it's true but it's definitely possible. He does love attention though and he could end all of this with a tweet or a statement but just like in 2008, he's going to let it rumble till he gets what he wants.

Could be something in this. Wasn't Jose accused of something recently about taxes? I'm pretty sure he was.

Also, could explain why Mbappe's family don't want him representing Mbappe. No doubt Falcao would of told him to stay clear.
He was last December, it was also about image rights.

Who said we'll sell him if we buy him ? He'll either retire here or move for free to MLS.
Never know with Ronaldo. Maybe he'll have always dreamed of PSG and want to go there next. Like he says, "Only God knows the future"

Well if he continues to look after his body the way he has, he's probably playing another 6 years.

If he's really fit and still scoring his loads of goals and wanted to leave, then we'll have the right to ask for a high fee as well, then.

It's more than a fair price. As you already acknowledged, Ronaldo isn't any 32 year old, he's one the GOAT and is still delivering at the highest level. Couple that with other facts including that he's still got 4 years left on his contract and his sheer pull marketing wise, it's a fair price.

There will come a time when he can't keep up this standard? If it was your money, would you be willing to bet it didn't happen in the next four years? That he'll be banging in 50 goals per season at 36?

His marketing value is what could maybe make this viable I admit but then again he'll want a share of his imaging rights.

It Wont come in next 2-3 years and still be getting atleast 15 - 20. He is a beast.

Ballbag has been surprisingly quiet on this. You would think these reports would be ripe for him to make a declarative statement like "Ronaldo will stay in the best league for the best club next season"

Yep Jose was accused of similar earlier this year? That all went quiet, so not sure if United intervened due to potential bad publicity. In any case, nearly all of Mendes' clients are getting in trouble for unpaid taxes related to image rights, so it's reasonable to assume Mendes probably advised them on this issue. Only now, they're probably realising it was shit advice. Be interesting to see if he loses a few more clients over this..

131 million pounds is a helluva money though for 15 - 20 goals per season. It's not a discussion if he'd do well. Of course he would.

I just think that if United were to do something like this, so Madrid can finance their Mbappe transfer - There will be a lot of backtracking on the Caf in three years time. Not that it will happen because Ronnie ain't leaving :-)

I mentioned that time wont come for the next 3 years at least, still in worst season he would get 15 to 20 goals a season.

I guess a lot of it depends on how serious Ronaldo is actually about leaving. If he's dead set on leaving, then if we don't buy him PSG will. £130m is not an issue for them and they would snap Madrid's hand off. So Madrid can finance their deal for Mbappe regardless. All the evidence seems to suggest that Mbappe will be going to Madrid at some point anyway, regardless of the Ronaldo situation.

The acquisition of Ronaldo would be purely opportunistic. There's no way we planned for this or considered the knock on effects, but if he's available I want us to be in for him.

Would he really be happy coming back to Utd? Playing under Mourinho, not Fergie, playing with a squad that is no way as talented as the current Madrid side.

Who will you whistle now?
Jajaja,we will find some portuguese who come here to destroy our healthy economy
I think that he knew about Hacienda before the final in Cardiff and has added the whistles to the bag to justify his anger.
As you said he complaint about Bernabéu but also said that Madrid fans are especial for him.People respect him here much more, especially out of stadium.
He can't take the victim role.Do you imagine Cristiano and Mendes walking to the trial like Messi and his father?.
About Mbappé,I think that was his favorite option, someone younger with a "low" profile.

@Vato @giorno @carvajal
I have a feeling that deep down, Flo wouldn't mind selling him.
What do you guys think?
I keep reading that Madrid need Cristiano for marketing reasons but then it's the doubt about the real importance of marketing.
I think that would sell him but maybe had preferred to do It in 2018

I think Flo has been waiting for when it is politically convenient to sell him.
I am surprised Madrid are already briefing that they are willing to listen to offers of 150m.
And not the usual he's not for sale stance.

For me, it smells of bad trade from miles off.

First you're getting a player that comes from the best 13 months in his career regarding silverware (2UCL Titles, League and EC), plus a goal scoring record in this UCL that's almost unachievable by peak CR/Messi standards, and yet his stats this year have been the worst in his 8 last seasons. You're bound to overpay for him based on that, and he's 31, he might still be a beast in 3 years, but a €150M beast? I doubt it.

And what strikes me the hardest, everyone is eager to pay a "fair amount" for him, usually Real Madrid are the ones pushing stars to screw their teams to joing them, for once they're in a position where Ronaldo could screw them (I still don't buy that he wants to leave) and to get haggled by other teams but somehow everyone seems happy to throw 150M Euros to them for a guy that costed them 90 and they milked like a cow?. That's like offering your bed to someone you don't like who's going to screw you

Who pays even 30 mio for a player, who maybe goes to jail?

(I know, the superrich hardly go to jail, but sometimes... Uli Hoeness.)

I'm sure He's going nowhere but In the off chance this is true I really can't see where he will end up. He's far too good for china and MLS. PSG is mentioned but I can't see why anyone would go there.

If he does come back here The boost it'll give literally anything to do with united will be astronimical.
