Cristiano Ronaldo | Transfer Speculation

They have no jurisdiction over him if he's not in the country!

If he's charged and sentenced, Britain and Spain have fast track extradition treaties like most EU countries do (maybe not for long). It's not like his tax evasion disappears just because he moves somewhere else. Unless he went to China, Russia somewhere like that.

He needs to pay his fine and move on.

I think Flo has been waiting for when it is politically convenient to sell him.
I am surprised Madrid are already briefing that they are willing to listen to offers of 150m.
And not the usual he's not for sale stance.
As soon as was known that he wanted to leave the press(Madridista) has started looking for substitutes or Marca in today's cover, reminding him the moment of the club.
To be honest I don't know what is and what is not a bluff.
Maybe they want to let him know that won't accept a renewal.Actually It would be surrealistic, the classic renewal show in Bernabéu when it's obvious that we are paying for Mendes mistakes

Messi got jail time.... 21 months - not sure how similar the cases are but it was a tax related charge and sentence

because of the strange application of Spanish law though, sentences under 24 months don't have to be served..... I'd expect Ronaldo falls in same boat

Ronaldo was more money and theres more charges against him

Messi was around 4.5m and Ronaldos is around 15m.

Also think it has something to do with how many years it's been going on for. And again Ronaldos is massively more than Messi.

The problem I see with how close to 2 years they went with Messi is how can they not go longer with Ronaldoso

It's been paid already.

With the way he's focused on treating his body, he still has 2 or 3 years at least at the same level. Perez would rather bend backwards than selling Cristiano Ronaldo. If he leaves they're gifting Barça the league and they'll most likely fail to get to the CL final. It's as simple as that and it's not like they need the money either.

I hope he leaves, maybe then Real Madrid fans would apreciate him like he deserves. If they had Benzema as their biggest goal threat and had to watch Pique lifting the title they might look bad on Ronaldo's yearly drama and be ok with it. It will never happen though and if it did, PSG would be his destination.

Jajaja,we will find some portuguese who come here to destroy our healthy economy
I think that he knew about Hacienda before the final in Cardiff and has added the whistles to the bag to justify his anger.
As you said he complaint about Bernabéu but also said that Madrid fans are especial for him.People respect him here much more, especially out of stadium.
He can't take the victim role.Do you imagine Cristiano and Mendes walking to the trial like Messi and his father?.
About Mbappé,I think that was his favorite option, someone younger with a "low" profile.

 Nice one mate.
Agree with your post. No victims in this affair. I think both should take responsability for their respective options. Both Ronaldo and Madrid should move on. His popularity with this affair is probably at an all time low. I think he has achieved all he could at Spain as well. It was a nice run but all good things come to an end.

Tbf I don't think the footballers knows what their accountant is doing.

Acc : let me do your tax, more refund for you.
Ronaldo : yay!

Most of us hire the 100bucks tax refund once a year, and if the ira audited it we're probably ended up on the same situation, having to pay extra.

It's nothinf that sinister to warrat being a fugitive. Some of you lot watch too much bourne

If we got him even with just 2 more additions including Lindelof we'd win the league imo.

But it won't happen, I hope this speculation goes away asap.

Yep Jose was accused of similar earlier this year? That all went quiet, so not sure if United intervened due to potential bad publicity. In any case, nearly all of Mendes' clients are getting in trouble for unpaid taxes related to image rights, so it's reasonable to assume Mendes probably advised them on this issue. Only now, they're probably realising it was shit advice. Be interesting to see if he loses a few more clients over this..

Someone earlier was wondering earlier if the relationship between Jose and Mendes had gone sour. Perhaps it has over this.

Maybe that's also why we haven't brought in any Mendes clients, such as Fabinho?

I don't know.

I'd throw my socks, bed and granny out the window if that happened.

As much as we joke, it did of course come within an absolute whisker of happening just a couple of years back...

When you look at Leicester winning it, and compare the recent title winners to the really strong Chelsea/United and Arsenal teams of the last 20 years, never write it off.
Would be horrible, but always fear it.

Maybe there will actually be a benefit to Brexit if it gets us CR7 back.

Naybe

PSG best for all involved. Good money from a club with unlimited funds, decent but not challenging league to score 50 in to stay relevant to Bd'O, makes sense.

Ronaldo playing in Ligue1?
His ego won't let him.

It's Real, United, or Hollywood (LA galaxy).

Red! That must mean… nothing. Even if some replies on Twitter suggest otherwise.

The truth is we have no clue of what's going on. However, I'm pretty sure he'll stay at Real.

Red for Portugal most likely if it were to have any meaning.

I'm not too sure. Most Spanish papers are reporting that Real's higher ups are pretty pissed at how Mendes has played this. A very significant number of his clients have gotten in trouble with the tax authorities but he seems to have convinced Ronaldo that the ball is in Madrid's court and that they should solve it. But somehow I don't think they will go out like Barcelona did with Messi.

There's no chance Ronaldo is going to PSG imo.

His ego is too big to play in Ligue 1.

At PSG it would be all about what Ronaldo can do for them, but at galaxy it would be all about how America embraces him.

Perhaps...but I'm not sure that'll do that much for him, considering plenty of big names have gone to America before. At PSG he'd at least be able to aim for the Champions League and take them to that, but the MLS is largely seen as a glorified retirement home for big names, and I think we'd all agree Ronaldo's gone much more in him than that.

you might be right.... I see some media outlets reporting 6 years minimum

here's an interesting article that suggest he would likely get less than 2 years despite the larger figure and 3 year tax evasion

in a world where Harry Redknapps dog is more wealthy than I will ever be the scales of justice tip in favour of those who can afford it

The story I read is that he hasn't done anything wrong. Spain changes their tax laws then tried to retroactively charge Ronaldo for it to the tune of 15mil.

After winning it 4 times?

Like Beckham and Best, Ronaldo see's himself as a brand, and if America is interested, that's the next level.

He's won it plenty of times but he's a serial winner who seems to thrive on competition. Trying to win it like PSG would probably come across as an alright challenge to him if they're also offering him an absurd deal. He'd get bored very quickly in the MLS, I think. Beckham went there when his career was winding down, but Ronaldo's probably still got a couple of years in him as an extremely proficient scorer at the top level, and at his best is far, far beyond Beckham as a footballer.

That's a good way to put it:D

Bet you're enjoying all the Cristiano and Mendes gossip and intrigue:lol:

 I admit that sometimes Bernabéu was a bit too demanding but right now he was in the best moment with fans.
In the party of Bernabéu after duodécima you can see that people adores him

Winning the Champions League with PSG would be one of the biggest achievements in his career. Imagine if he scores in the final.. Also, he will be only the second footballer after Seedorf to win it with 3 different clubs.. I think his ego would be fine if he goes to Paris:lol:

I don't know.
i didn't know he'd fallen out with Jose, or maybe I didn't pay any attention as Jose falls out with everyone:D

But yeah, if there's any tension between them, it might be why we haven't yet gotten in a Mendes player.

In any case, I hope whatever relationship United has with Mendes, the club ensures they have all bases covered. I don't want us dragged into his legal mess.
Hope Cristiano knows what he's doing as it wouldn't surprise me to see Mendes end up in prison one day.

Ronaldo at Madrid is worth more to the Spanish economy than 15M euros in tax. This is his way of saying to Spain, you will lose if you come after me.

Yes I saw a clip of that and I thought he was enjoying all the good feelings, but who knows with Ronnie...

This is all just wasted time, I really hope we come out soon and say not a chance will he be coming back here.
