Yesterday. He’s wearing a Juventus trackie.
Yes I got the Juventus stuff. Just to point out if it was before or after but not important. A lot of things can be pointed negatively to him but that one is genuine. Nani the same. Even Anderson talks always the same. What happened next is football and money.

Ah right. I don’t know if it was before or after, but I’d guess probably before since there is daylight coming in!

could well be; I'm just not used to him looking flat. He usually bursts into life at some point in a game, and he's also usually flailing his arms like crazy whether he's doing well or not. Was just very subdued-looking all game yesterday.

Did you not jump back from your tv when he was flailing his arms and shouting at the linesman when they didn’t penalize Lindelof for a handball?

Pretty anonymous tonight apart from that 1 chance vs De Gea.

Juventus play at pedestrian pace compared to Madrid, no wonder he doesn't look at his best yet.

he had a great game actually and he played for the team not just to wait for the right ball to score

I'm serious. He didn't seem with it. Perhaps that's due to other things than us, but he wasn't burning with the temper tantrum intensity he usually plays with.
All of that is overblown. He just wasn't very good.

United focused on marking him out of the game which opened up spaces for the likes of Dybala and others. This will be what is key for Juventus in terms of success in the CL. It won't be great for Ronaldo as an individual but great for the team. Opponents will give extra energy and attention to keep him quiet which will enable the rest of the team to be decisive. The teams that don't do that and treat him like every other player in the line-up will get slaughtered. That's similar to how it went at Madrid.

He didn't have a great game but could've easily bagged a couple of goals had it not been for WC keeping from David De Gea.

If De Gea doesn't save that shot or Lindelof misses one of the clearances, then he'd been great.

He's an attacker, Juventus scored early and were barely interested in attacking after that. He could either start going forward at every opportunity or play according to the circumstances of the game and the strengths of his team... He played exactly the way he should be playing when Mandzukic isn't available, good on the ball, great movement all over the pitch and coexisting with Dybala is no longer a problem. On another day the ball goes slightly differently and he scores one or two.

Having this versatility and ability to adapt to the circumstances of the game is very valuable, especially if your goal is to win the Champions League. You'd think it would be obvious by now. He's the highest profile player in world football and for the past few years he's been completely misunderstood by the majority of football fans and media.

Thought he was great in the first half then disappeared for the second. Truly great player though, he was never going to score as much at Juve but hes still a huge threat.

Two absolute fantastic Manchester United legends and I don't use that word lightly.

When SAF was manager, I always felt that anything was possible in any competition and I am not at all surprised that he has been such an incredibly tough act to follow. His retirement has left a massive whole at OT.

Same with Christiano Ronaldo. We were so fortunate to have had him as a player.
It was his exceptional heading ability that I found so memorable.

In a way it makes me feel quite sad as it will be a very very long time before we will see anyone even remotely as good as them at United.

Got to admit it hurts me a little seeing him play for the opposition, didn't like it against Madrid and didn't like it today either. Grew up watching him run down the wing for us, but he left almost 10 years ago and he's still better than any of our attackers by some margin.

Good post and perfectly true.

I too feel not only sad but also feeling that his leaving left United far worse off than his (cheap) transfer fee could ever compensate.

His presence at United often meant that we were capable of beating anyone. Him and to a lesser degree Wayne Rooney.

I realise that leaving was his decision but we were never the same after. He made the ordinarily special.

Like many I have the utmost respect for CR7 especially in the way he has managed to keep himself hungry to stay at the very top.

My Inter supporting friend was so mad with Spalleti for misusing/underusing Cancelo, and at the club for not taking the option to sign him in the summer. Really fecking dumb when you think about it.
Inter did not sign Cancelo and Rafinha, too. The first one was signed by Juventus (thank you guys), the second one came back to Barcelona and now scored against Inter in CL. Very good job!

Well that second goal is just ridiculous. It just looks like juve/Ronaldo are playing with cheat codes. The game was literally at a standstill for a whole 15 minutes

Goals aside it was his worst game in a Juve shirt by a mile. A lot of it was due to the team though, I have absoutely no idea what Allegri's plan is offensively. His rotations are a complete mess too, seems like they try to win by being just a little bit better and more clinical than the opposition.
