I wouldn't write him off as being over the hill just yet, everytime that has been suggested in the past he has raised his game and gone on a crazy run of goal scoring.

One day time will catch up of course but if there has ever been a player I'd back to prove everyone wrong it is him.

He is certainly playing within himself at this stage of the season because he knows his job is to win Juventus the champions league. But he has clearly lost a step at the same time, and at 34/35 with so many miles on the clock that’s hardly surprising as others have said. He remains a top class striker.

Ya this looks more like a Juventus problem then a Ronaldo one. Look at the goal he just scored. He looks like a different player when he plays with Portugal who create a lot of chances.

He's being wasted at Juventus.

I just can't tell if it's a player quality issue or a coach issue.

You put balls to this guy and he'll bang them in by the dozens. Yes he does need service now, he's mostly a striker.

Washed up they say

Yeah, people need to calm down.

That shoulder pass though @SportingCP96  When he does that you know he’s in the mood.
Goncalo should have buried that chance.

like I said he looks more loose in Portugal compared to at Juve. At Juve he is out wide a lot it seems and they don’t really create a lot of good chances.

will see him for the third time live on Sunday. Lets see what he does against the big boys Luxembourg

Jesus...Portugal look like prime Barcelona tonight with the way they've moved the ball around so fluidly compared to how Juve have been playing with Ronaldo.

Jesus this guy sure is “passed it”.

It’s more then obvious this has to do for the team he plays rather then the player himself. Routine hat trick.

also Bernardo is fecking class.

And the opposition, perhaps?
That plays a part as well but even against the mighty Spal Juve struggle to break down so I think it’s more then just the opposition.

Portugal plays better than Juve and Lithuania is a midtable serie B level team so yeah...

Lithaunia is more like a Serie B/C quality side.
That does not change the point being made. Juve are a poor attacking side and have been poor in general all season. Goals like the second one have nothing to do with the quality of that side but rather the player.

Surround him with creative players and he won't fail.

This is usually the basis for the Messi vs Ronaldo argument, Messi IS the creative player aswell as the player that can’t fail without it like Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is great though. Portugal’s greatest.

16 goals for the season now. 10 for Portugal and 6 for Juve. Not bad for an old man.

Also not a lot of the usual Messi or Barca fan boys here today...that’s weird ;)

Don’t want to start a Messi vs Ronaldo debate so I’ll say the other obvious.

Europe’s greatest ever player.

To be fair, Messi also struggles when his team mates/tactics are not upto scratch. Which there is nothing wrong with, it's normal.

Ricardo also needs to be the starting right back. By far the best right back we have.

He IS the conversation.

Well I don't do hyperbole or recency bias.

FourFourTwo in 2017 ranked him 5th best ever and Cruyff 4th best.

With regards to the record, it might just not be about surpassing Ali Daei, but also keeping it. Neymar is 7 years younger than him and is already on 61 goals himself, 37 behind. So if Neymar plays quite a bit into his 30's, I would put money on Neymar getting 100+ and certainly challenging for it.

Maybe, but I have very little faith in Neymar showing enough hunger to take the record. Only time will tell though.
