Is Ronaldo justified to say that he “feels betrayed” by Manchester United?

Someone on a podcast a few weeks back, maybe Second Captains, argued that ETH was playing it beautifully: giving Ronaldo just enough rope to hang himself while maintaining the appearance of support. It looks fairly well observed now.

Dumbass ronaldo fanboys trying to spin the narrative that ronaldo complaining about the gym, jacuzzi and the chef is calling out the glazers and is going to make a difference in getting rid of them, when in reality he's just using that as deflection tactic to shield a way from the reality of his own decline and regression

Get in! I knew you were one of them. The Ronaldo bullshitometer never fails. He just has high standards - why can’t everyone have high standards like him.

I say we give him a better contract, clear EtH out, put him in charge and rename the club Cristiano Ronaldo FC.

I only see positives coming from this interview.

Ronaldo is surely gone.
There’s pressure on the board to sort the shit out he’s complaining about in the interview.
New players will be needed to replace him going.
The fans and players are firmly on the side of Ten Hag and will back him even more now they see what he’s dealing with on a daily basis.

Perfect timing also, they’ve got a free 6 weeks to get their shit together.
Whilst I agree, it also meant we had huge issues behind the scenes and that's not good for the team. Glad this ends now

On one hand it would mean seeing City win another title and I'm not sure I want to.

On the other hand, seeing Arsenal collapse from a position of power for trying to accommodate a past-it, 37yo diva, would be delicious too.

Is this guy a professional troll? I doubt anyone who watched Arsenal this season thinks that what they need is this Ronaldo in their team and dressing room.

Yes. And a phone hacker and scumbag tabloid editor. He's despicable.

Funniest is his reposte to Rooney. So insecure

Someone remind him that this is Manchester United and here its Rooney >>> Ronaldo no matter how much botox he does to quip about 'looks'

How can you still think this? He clearly doesn't. Ronaldo only cares about himself.
Which you can mostly get away with when you're performing at a world class level, not so much when you'd struggle in the Sunday league.

Nobody would say no, but he hasn't said anything new that will gain traction. I hope I'm wrong.

It's just some awful attempt to dress his tantrum up as righteousness.

Well lets wait and see until the full interview gets released. Hopefully a damning indictment of the leeches will at least bring even more focus into their disastrous reign.

He just needed to play some games before the WC. Now he is just looking for a way to get kicked from the club with a big payout to leave.
Fine him 2-3 month pay for his comments instead and send him to train with the reserves.
Going after ETH just shows how big a prick he is.
In my opinion he just killed his entire legacy with United.
Hope he is not coming back after the WC.

I like the fact he is supposedly upset the club didn't believe his reason for missing pre season when literally no one believes he has been ill for the last two games now

Some of the posts here turning a blind eye to the problematic quotes and yet embracing his other favourable quotes is selective stupidity.

Im sure most fans here agree with a lot of his quotes (despite it being unacceptable to say while still being paid by the club). However, it’s the bollocks about him being forced out and the disrespect to the manager that is the problem.

You can’t just support 8 things he says right and then ignore the 3 major things he says which are completely unacceptable. He’s a nob for doing the interview at all.
If he’d said “the club is stuck in the past and hasn’t moved on since I left it in 2009”, followed by “a good example of this is them signing a past-it CR7 for sentimental reasons in 2021”, I’d be fully on board with him

Explains a lot of our early issues when the changing room was heavily player power
For sure, and Ronaldo was in the center of everything. I can imagine it was a lot of work to pull the players to his side for ETH. Just a shame he fell for his apology some weeks ago and played him.

Well lets wait and see until the full interview gets released. Hopefully a damning indictment of the leeches will at least bring even more focus into their disastrous reign.

Fingers crossed he has videos of them with Prince Andrew or the like, short of that the Glazers seem not to give a toss that we fecking hate them.

Feels like an exercise in damage limitation for brand CR7. Disappointing he is throwing the club that made him under the bus. He is out for himself only.

I get where he is at regarding the lack of infrastructure progression though. I used to do some work for somebody who worked behind the scenes on the medical staff at United. He left to do the same role for Manchester City, even though he was a United fan. I recall him saying that City paid more money, were nicer to work for and had far better facilities. This would've been around the 2010 sort of timeframe. Sounds like little, if anything, has changed. Meanwhile City have gone from strength to strength.

The best thing would be if the club released a public statement offering Ronaldo to terminate his contract if he gives up any severance payment. Give him the option of putting his money where his mouth is or exposing him for being greedy on top of everything.

Interesting if true. It looks like the players and Ten Hag were already preparing for life post-Ronaldo for a while now.

Actually the whole point is to post before WC. After WC, most people will forget and Ronaldo will be back to scoring goals again.
Only if he’s playing Cypriots every week.
I feel sorry for him that The Glazers owning United while having Ole in charge was such a closely guarded secret in the football world when he joined us.
Such a scandal indeed. To find Harry Maguire being captain must have really shook him too.

Only episode I’d watch tbh.

Fingers crossed he has videos of them with Prince Andrew or the like, short of that the Glazers seem not to give a toss that we fecking hate them.

I think they are quite well isolated from our media over in the US, so if something like this gains negative press for them in the US it may be a catalyst for change, hopefully anyway.

We should just stick him in the reserves and fine him everytime he doesn't turn up

It's extremely bizarre seing someone trying to go against the criticism of his interview by pointing out that many of his comments in isolation might be true. It's completely missing the point and seriousness of what he has done. Going after your employer publicly (and not even in the heat of the moment!) and manager while being under contract is unforgivable. Regardless of what your intentions are, it's something you can't do at all. He has completely fecked up here and there's nothing redeeming about his comments - even if it "confirms" what critics has been saying about the state of the club.

This obviously means he has played his last game for us, they way it ended is quite sad. Luckily for us, this is helping us massively by removing our weakest link by far from our starting XI. He is actually so bad footballing-wise now that this is a major blessing on the pitch. Also it means we won't have anyone bar Martial upfront, so we need to find a striker in January.
