I think ETH secretly is delighted this interview has come out.

It basically blows away any outside pressure from pundits and media that try to justify Ronaldo needing to start. ETH can tell him to feck off now and have the support of every rational fan and media.
Exactly, if I’m the manager I’m chuffed to bits with this, makes my job very easy now and not a single person in the world will question him being jettisoned.

Same situation with Keane and Fergie. He was getting on, couldn’t accept he couldn’t play week in, week out and Fergie found a way to boot a club legend and fully win favour at the same time, hence the reason Keane keeps talking about the Ronaldo situation like it’s him.

I’m not angry - I’m annoyed that there are gullible gaslit people such as yourself defending him because he’s slagged off the Glazers so all is fine. The narrative now seems to be he’s right, needed saying except about ETH - completely missing the whole thing is a toxic self-serving excuse about why he’s not to blame for any of his behaviour - especially his Rangnick comments and perfectly explain how we went from 2nd and a flawed team but ultimately a team that were seemingly playing for each other to the disparate shambles we became within 6 months of him joining. He’s bang on - we are ran by incompetent people - or at least we were - the jury is out on the new crew - but by far the most incompetent thing they ever did is sign Ronaldo as seen by the fact not a single other club now wants him. And the harsh irony of all this is that most of the same social media sheep congratulating him on taking it to the glazers are the same social media sheep that were screaming “STORM OLD TRAFFORD!!!” when it looked like he was going to City. They’re a part of the fecking problem because unfortunately the club sodding listens to these hysterical eejits.

Let's keep your poor attempt at personal insults out of this.

What a load of garbage and contradictory waffle. So, you don't like Ronaldo, i get it. Whereas I see he arrived at a team with a culture that needed changing, he was always going to be the "outlier" and labelled toxic for questioning things. He's admitted he was wrong for walking off/refusing to play. He wasn't the first to do it and he'll not be the last.

ETH has certainly played his cards really well. It is well recognized how for a new coach, big name players at the club that doesn't fit the new coach's philosophy.

If you in the summer set out a scenario were ETH is going to come in and dethronize Harry Maguire and Christiano Ronaldo completely, people would have said that it probably was doable but that it was going to cost a lot. Leave him with a lot of enemies. Be disliked by many fans. Like don't get me wrong, I am certain that ETH doesn't have a personal agenda against any of these guys, if Maguire would have come into the season and played like say a Michael Reiziger at CB, ETH would have been thrilled. But for football reasons, these guys aren't the best fit.

In hindsight, I have to say that ETH played his cards -- not only well -- but also without being detected 'as a card player'. Was ETH really of the opinion that the best starting 11 for Brentford included Maguire with Varane on the bench? I think that there was a element with letting the Captain start and play his way out of it, there. The writing of ETH-disrespecting-Ronaldo-claims was on the wall, but what are we discussing on this topic now? People are saying that they are disappointed with ETH not seeing through Ronaldo when he made Ronaldo captain against Villa. No talk about ETH disrespecting Ronaldo (at least besides what is coming from Piers directly).

So the full thing is out midweek? Great. Looking forward. One is a shit-stirring bellend who shouldn’t have a platform and the other is Piers Morgan.

Threw a few of the chefs under the bus too, fully expected United to fire them for no other reason than that he appears to like change.
Twerp.
I can understand criticising the state of the stadium, lack of investment in certain areas. Totally on board with that. But having a thread running through the staff is exactly what Fergie wanted to do to create a good working environment. He knew all their names and they were part of the success as well. Why wouldn’t they still be working for United? I think singling that out was a poor take.

It will get lost in his attack on the manager. If he meant to attack the owners then he shouldn't have done it this way.

Any attack on the club ownership will be undermined by the self centred tantrum.

Any attack on those leeches is a positive for me. Ronaldo should be finished at the club but if he can drag them down with him it will be the best performance he has put in this season!

He is definitely forcing a move, but who will pay his wages at this stage of his career? I suspect a move to the US, middle East or China for one last great payday will be the result in January. No-One in Europe is going to pay him £400,000 per week given his current output and attitude.
He is treating United the same as he did Juventus when he wanted out.

Get in! I knew you were one of them. The Ronaldo bullshitometer never fails. He just has high standards - why can’t everyone have high standards like him.

As much if a shit show this interview was and rightfully torched his legacy at the club, at least this is one positive
To be fair, if he goes fully in on the way the club has been run this interview might be his final gift to United fans as he parts. His legacy is done and I don’t have much good will left for him but sticking the boot in on the way out will cause those parasites to pay attention, they don’t give a shit about us but they care about a player like him calling them out.

I haven't defended spoking to PM, I have defended being open about the lack evolution at united. They're different things. If as you say, it was out there anyway, being open about that shouldn't be an issue. So, why are you so angry?

He attacked the manager in the most damaging and cowardly way possible, with a vile man, just because he also criticised the awful owners doesn't matter at all.

This is blessing in disguise for ETH. It was obvious that he can't handle this situation (to be clear, no other manager could). You have a player with huge ego, reputation and salary who doesn't fit for your system. But you must make him happy because he is a bomb in changing room and makes everything about him in media.

Now ETH is free for doing his job. Diva is history and never will play for us again. Plus, now we will buy another striker i guess.

Firstly I'm a UTD follower Fan etc etc, not A Cristiano Ronaldo follower. The Football team club whatever you say comes first and last, Ronny will always be a legend at UTD coming back was the wrong idea, especially when you decided to Sack the manager who had him in and put a interim German in.

There has been a lot if stuff wrong at the club, ETH is not one of those and When a player is not what he was it's hard to take, Ronny will go to another club has to he's finished at UTD now.

It's sad it's come to this but Ronny in modern times it's all about him, in hindsight should have left him go to City.

It’s absolute madness from Ronaldo. Can’t help but feel sad about it really. He’s torching his reputation at the end of his career. He’s probably done us a favour really, and it’ll make his exit even easier.

Agree, just made his job easier .

That 340m we’ve spent in the last 3 windows - including giving 500k a week to the supposed GOAT resulting in the highest wage bill in EPL history is a funny way of showing they don’t care. Never got the lack of ambition argument - They want to win things they’re just incompetent. Hopefully Murtaugh isn’t incompetent and he’s now in charge. However he did hire Ragnick so who knows.

Nobody would say no, but he hasn't said anything new that will gain traction. I hope I'm wrong.

It's just some awful attempt to dress his tantrum up as righteousness.

This interview is Ronaldo's "get rid of me plea to the club." If I was incharge, I'd tell him to buy out his contract otherwise he is just frozen out. Once his contract is over, he can feck off to wherever.

He mentions in the interview that Madrid treated him like a king. Truth is that even there, he said they disrespected him because they did not increase his salary.

And to made matters worse, Real Madrid's success has continued without him while he has failed at Juve and at United.

In addition two of his teammates have won the ballon d'or since he left. To this day, he has not congratulated Benzema showing how petty and selfish he is.
