Cristiano Ronaldo - Much Ado About Al Nassr

And the "whopping 12 points" was the closest we have been since Ferguson retired. The next season's points total was the lowest in 30 years. Which part of that are you disputing?

The current squad wouldn't be performing at the same level if we had to shoehorn him in every starting lineup.

Doesn't mean the team he joined was in anywhere or shape close to the top. Just the best of some shitty bunch. You are bending words to make the team he joined kinda good or something. You can criticize Ronaldo like the rest of us without the need for that.

i don’t think it’s wumming to believe that if the hag was the manager he says he is, then why didn’t he set the team up in a way that meant ronaldo scored more goals? even if that meant we scored less goals as a team and drew/lost more games.

Absolutely no subtlety, you’ve gave it away.

Bringing Ronaldo back was the worst signing in club history and everyone involved in sanctioning that signing should be probed. Wasted so much money that we could have used right now.

Have been a few articles about how it brought our wages and financials to an unsustainable level and we’re feeling the effects now. fecked up Juventus as well. Disaster in every way.

Or maybe the mindset of someone who lost their infant son about 6 months prior? Given throughout the rest of his career he very rarely had issues with anyone else in the squad and was always described as a consumate professional, you don't think his bizarre behaviour over the last year or so could be linked to the death of his child?

In fact Ronaldo has always cared about himself and himself alone throughout his career. That has always been his mindset. It's just that he was too successful all the time so people can hardly notice it but it became obvious when he declined and lost his place and spotlight.

That reminds me of when he knew Modric, his teammate, would win Ballon D' Or and not him so didn't give a feck about going to the awards ceremony even though it's literally his teammate who would win it.

Several times during Madrid era he used Mendes to spread rumors that he wanted to leave just to force Madrid to give him new contracts or help him with the taxes issue. Had no issue using United's name for his own purposes.

That's Ronaldo. That's how he thinks. He thinks the world revolves around him and he doesn't love anyone bar himself.

Looking at our situation now, had he not been such a prick pre-world cup, he would likely have been back in the team within a few games post world cup when the inevitable Martial injury happened, alongside needing to rotate with the amount of games we have as I doubt we would have signed Weggy if he stuck around.

Oh well, better for us
In a hindsight I'm so thankful for him being himself, a stupid delusional narcissistic prick so we could finally get rid of him. Simply couldn't stand watching us with him anymore. And the circus. Thank God, again.

Ole - is there any substance to this? Haven't read anything to suggest Fergie was directly involved

Phelan - wasn't this purely Ole's call? Again haven't seen anything that ties Fergie directly

Ole had no call to make, the club decided on the pair.

Hard to believe Ed Woodward who fought for the likes of Mourinho and always wanted to sign star players as much for marketing as for footballing reasons, suddenly thought, “oh I know, Mickey Shorts and some bloke managing in Norway are the key”

Fergie & Gill still sit on the advisory board, of fecking course they were the ones who suggested such a ridiculous idea.

The year modric won, Ronaldo had already left for juventus so wasn't his team-mate anymore and who doesn't spread rumours they might leave for a better contract, ramos seemed to do it annually at Madrid but no one would doubt his professionalism. Yes his decline probably had something to do with it, but as recently as April he scored two hat tricks in the league then 4 months later struggles to kick a ball, some of that can be attributed to a physical decline, but I'd imagine losing a child can totally break some people

He joined Juventus in this summer, so he was his teammate just few months ago. Out of respect for him at lest attend the ceremony and congrats him. But since he knew he wasn't going to win it he said "feck it who cares".

It's not against professionalism, but it's a proof he had no problem using United, his previous club whose fans adore, just to get what he wants.

And we aren't talking about his form. We are talking about his mentality. Ronaldo has always cared about one thing and that's himself alone. Of course he has the right to do that but it becomes pretty hard to stand by him when he needs support as he spent his career only caring about his own success only.

where to start? sorry for forcing the undisputed goat out of the door by not picking him?

sorry for playing stupid mind games and distracting ronaldo from his world cup, forcing his performances to drop a few notches (he’s only human) and allowing that worm messi to sneak in and win an undeserving crown. well done ten hag, ruining the last world cup that actually matters. they’re all irrelevant now without ronaldo.

sorry for giving the worm fanboys ammunition to claim their steroid team needer is the best of all time (news flash, he’s closer to the worst (gary neville.))

sorry for being jealous of ronaldo’s fashion sense and copying his style in that chess advert with the worm and wearing turtle necks the whole time.

sorry for forcing ronaldo to do an interview like a captive, detailing just how bad things are under ten hag and then using his media pull and illuminati ties to twist every word and make ronaldo seem like the bad guy.

ten hag never even came out and said ronaldo was the best ever. he never came out and criticised the worm. he never once played ronaldo in a way that meant he could score the goals he deserved.

imagine having to go back to your family after a long day and tell them you didn’t score today because a man with no hair was jealous of your hair and turtle neck? imagine going to the office and not being able to siuuu every time an excel formula didn’t return a hashtag error. imagine coming home to your wife and breaking down in tears when she asked you how your day was because a bald man didn’t let you siuuu on your lunch break? “sorry for what?” he says. jeez.

p.s i am not into discussion = will not reply back

Post of the year winner. I'm ready to declare that just 27 days into the year!

Didnt know that Cafe have so many billioners. How CR screwed himself? Sitting on UTD bench or 400 millions?
He doesnt gives a feck about UTD. Bet your house if RM had oferend him route to return back he would play for free.

You’re right, Piers. Ronaldo is a very rich laughing stock. Good for him. RM wouldn’t have entertained the idea of him playing for them for free, though. He’s that shit at football now.

Is he still taking all the free kicks too and wasting them all? this is the thing I never understood about this guy - how can you be so blind and not see you're not anymore good at it, it's been almost 10 years he's been wasting set pieces

I'm actually not. I'm mentioning facts (that the team he joined was 2nd place and immediately had the worst points total in the Premier league era when he joined) while you're melting down and insisting that the facts mentioned to you "makes the team look kinda good or something". Jog on.

For a moment there he was reminded of that trick vs Arsenal when he was the best player in the world, only to realize he is now in South Africa and snapped out of it, it obviously threw him off and gave the ball away. Not his fault

erik ten hag
vincent kompany
fernando santos
rudi garcia

nearly got enough worms for a worm farm.

Wonder how long it’ll take for him to be benched

He's not in south africa

It's also a fact we didn't challenge for the title this year. We were 2nd but were 12 points away from the top and the league was over in Feb.

Jog on.

You quoted my post, genius, not the other way around. Nobody cares about your impression of the team that season, because it has nothing to do with the fact that we went from 2nd to the worst total in premier league history, which was the point.

If you want to have another completely irrelevant discussion regarding how strong or weak that team was, go somewhere else or reply to someone else's post.

Now, as I said, jog on.

What's even weirder is that in his first/second of his 3 superhuman seasons with us, he was genuinely brilliant at them. He must have stopped practicing them when he became a poacher.

Thinking the team went down hill like this just because one player joined is a hilarious logic that's not even worth taking seriously.

This team didn't challenge for any big trophy, finished 2nd miles away from the top spot and was out of every competition bar Europe League in March. This team was going to collapse eventually and most of us saw it coming way before it happened.

Anyway, you like facts, I mentioned facts, this team finished 2nd but didn't challenge for the title and wasn't close to a title challenge either.

Jog on.

Why are you repeatedly tagging me and repeating my "jog on" to me?

The facts are that the team went from 2nd to the worst points total in premier league history. You came in with an emotional meltdown with some tangential arguments that nobody is interested in having. I told you to take a walk. You continually tagged me to repeat the same inane lines.

You can have your opinion of the team all you want. But I'm not interested in your opinion of it because it has nothing to do with the argument. Or my post.

Do me a favor and stop repeatedly wasting my time. If you want to address my point, that's fine. If you're going to randomly digress, don't tag me. I'm not interested in your football takes.

This equivalent to Muhammad Ali's latter career, which is sad to see.

But who cares? He did that interview with Piers, there is no sympathy for me or majority of United fans and that is fair game.

It was a good team. Then it turned into a bad team the next season. We'll never know if Ronaldo was part of the explanation for that and if so how big a part, but we do know that his presence certainly didn't prevent it. We also know that the following season he performed very badly indeed for United, were just as bad for Portugal and now seems to be doing badly again, in the Saudi league. And we know that this season United's results were much better when he was not playing, and after he left, than they were when he was in the lineup. This of course in addition to behaving with a stunning lack of professionalism and loyalty, while talking some of the most ridiculous nonsense we're ever going to hear from a top athlete.

He just won't deal with reality, and is mad at the world for not sharing his blind spot. No wonder, as long as there are evidently still fans of his who are fully willing to go along with the madness.

Wasting your time ? Are you for real ? You're posting on an entertainment forum about a sport. A)That's basically you spending your free time and B)You can always stop replying or even ignore me. You're not forced to reply if you think your time you spent on an internet forum is so precious.

You're hilarious.

I agree. I think him returning was a mistake. I'm honestly disagreeing on the concept he was the reason the team went down hill because anyone who watched Ole's United knew that it was moving on thin ice and was just few bad results away from collapsing. Ronaldo's return was definitely a mistake and us repeatedly playing him every game was also a huge mistake. He was an issue but he wasn't the reason this team fully collapsed like this because from the start it wasn't a consistent or good team.

I agree with the rest of the post and that his ego killed him, and I talked about that in another post.

Anyone on here able to shed some light on the rumours that Ronaldo actually gave Mendes an ultimatum to organise a transfer to Bayern or Chelsea, which led to their separation?

What part of "stop wasting my time with inane drivel" and "I'm not interested in your football takes" was confusing for you?

Ali had Parkinsons. I don't think people found his decline hillarious which is the case with Ronaldo after his recent behaviour.

You're absolutely hilarious. You realize you're not forced to reply back right ? You could have not posed this post if you don't want to waste your precious time any more.

Thanks for giving me a good laugh.
